Unmoding the Kurtzzzzz!

Hey I love the sound of my KC Jaguar but I was wondering if I got some AV Jag pups and a stock pickguard how hard would it be to unmod the KC Jag and make it a stock jag. I would leave the toogle in place just change the pups anyone think id be worth it?

I think its time I do my own soldering stuff and stop spending the cash for guitar center it would be perfect being able to change the pups when I want to for free. I think im gonna do im thinkin a mint green pickguard on sunburst would be really cool.

You should! 😛 At least you can experiment with stuff without making trips to the GC peeps everytime. Oh, any potential issues with mounting the single coil pickups to the humbucker routs? The pickup screw holes are different, aren't they?

Palo: Aye, haven't checked this forum for a while...been busy auditioning various potential vocalists for my band (my current vocalist has got her own real-life commitment like work/relationship and can't join us for the rest of the band's journey anymore). Done with 4 vocalists and a few more next week 😕

you'd need to put foams under the pups.

you could also consider selling the kurt jaguar. they go for a lot of money. you could probably have enough money to buy 2 normal japanese jags

If Rick's suggestion really works out, I think you'd be better off selling off the kurt model and get two CIJ jags! Leave one stock (maybe with AV pickups) and you can mod the other to have hums in them if you want 😛 *lol*

Or buy one CIJ Jaguar and you've got plenty of cash to spend on all the upgrades you'd ever need.

I dont think I could bring myself to sell it, its just way to sweet the neck is like butter and the binding on the neck its like DAMNNNN! hahaha im still only considering these mods I just think it would be a pain in the ass to figure out where to solder all these things,I mean ive got a coil splitter, a pickup selector,the rhythm circut,and the three knobs which I can never remember I think its vol tol tone,or mybe tone tone volume damn it! haha as you can see I need to figure out all the controlls first then I need to get the singles in and then what do I do about the coil splitter!? Another pup selector mybe Im not sure this looks very annoying on paper....haha

hey, you have an idea like mine!

i was planning to back-convert a Jaguar HH so that each pickup position has a pair of Fender AV jag pickups and a pair of hotrails in it at the same time..each wired to the different tone/volume circuits.

so it would be like having a normal jag and a jag HH in the same guitar!

im not sure..does the kurt jag have the lead/rythym circuits? how about the neck?? is it literally just a regular jag with humbuckers and a TOM bridge, just like Kurts?!
