- Well, I will start with the obvious - the stock pickups are fairly different.
- Besides, you evidently convinced yourself that having two Jaguars is ok, and they will assuredly be more similar to each other than either one and a jazzmaster.
- Sonic Youth makes heavy use of Jazzmasters (hope that is a positive for you).
- Some people don't like the "metallic" look of the Jag. The jazzmaster caters to this crowd. The Jazz is maybe slightly more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion.
- The Jazz is OG. (if that means anything to you)
- The knob styles are different on the two, as are the headstock decals (desparate i know, but every little bit helps, right?)
- Plus, it sounds like you have a strong feeling about. Go with it.
I empathize with you, except I have the Jazz and want the Jag.
