hey i was wondering if this is fine for a cij jaguar?

i will be replacing it with a CTS one down the track, but will this do me for a month or so?

just until i get everything sorted with my amp and such, i just sold my only amp and i'm drastically looking for one 😢

You want a Logarithmic pot, not a Linear one.

The picture won't load for me so I can't see if this pot will physically fit but electrically it should work fine. Jaguars are odd in that they DO use linear taper 1M pots (though log/audio taper pots would work fine too).

I'd really appreciate it if anyone who browses this thread and knows about potentiometeres can you please post a reply as I'm going to be driving about 30minutes out of the way (which is long because i'm taking the highway basically from 5minutes into the drive onwards) tomorrow so someone can re-solder all my knobs for me.

I don't want to have to go there with the wrong ones ☹

find me a place in melbourne that stocks the CTS ones! 😁

i looked everywhere and got these from the most "popular" electronics store.

like all the little tech-geeks go there to build their remote control cars and what not.

would it fit and work fine is what i'm asking though..

it is 1meg, linear and it has those 3 soldering places..

lol, you can tell from that how much of a noob i am 😛

Go to a guitar shop and ask the repairs department for them. I dont know how much different those pots from Jaycar will be, but they arent designed with guitars in mind and may sound crackly and dirty, compared to a set of pots designed specifically for guitars.

well i'm getting my blues junior tomorrow so i can't order the pentiometers online from guitarpartsresource just yet..

i want to be able to get knobs as well as black pup covers with the order so i'm going to have to wait till thursday or friday to order it..

it'll take about two weeks to get there..

hence my need for them now.. i don't know anywhere that sells the CTS or Fender ones.

i went to a few guitar joints but they didn't know jack.

there are no such things as Fender pots. fender use CTS pots in their most expensive guitars. the CTS pots are a nice vintage touch, and a good quality pot. but i'm sure that most any 1 meg pots will do you.
