Will this destroy my amp(s)?

I have an old Symphonic tube amp from the 60's my uncle gave me that's probably about 5 Watts. It's not loud enough for band volumes (obviously) but I dig the natural distortion it gets.

How would I set it up where I can play clean through the HRDlx and then stomp a pedal and have the natural distortion from the Symphonic come out of the Hot Rod Deluxe?

Can I put it through the PREAMP OUT/POWER AMP IN on my HRDlx without damaging either amp?

well if you use the IN/OUT you'll only get one of the two I believe.

it'll probably be the speaker and the cab, to a certain extent, that make the old amp sound good? maybe you'd be best off just micing the old amp up to a PA or something...

only if you have an output in between the pre and power stage on the first amp, which i doubt you do.

what you might be able to do, stick a dynamic mic on the small amp, run it through an impedance convertor and take the out put of that into your bigger amp. that way itd be the right type of signal for the bigger amp.

that idea rocks actually, and i already have an impedance convertor. im not putting any kind of guarantee on it working, but itd be a cool way to be able to adjust your sound. if i had two cool amps id try it out, i have a reasonable and a ####ty amp i might be try it with tho. ill get back to you on it

is your impedance convertor 500-5000 ohms?

i just looked and it only goes the other way, boo-urns.

its possible it'd just work using it backwards though, i'll give it a go.
