Reissue mustang neck width?

New Guy Vonzipper Here, I have a oct 1964 daphne blue mustang.24 inch scale,neck width..A...This guitar is near mint,the nitro paint never faded or changed color.I dont like putting hard miles on it.I was in a music store and grabed the new reissue mustang,Dakota red model,it seemed the neck was alittle wider,possible B width? anyway felt great,The A width is a little narrow.So my question is Do the reissues have A or B width necks.Ill post some picks later.....Thanks Vonzipper

all the reissues have B width 1 5/8". the A width is 1 4/8". only an eighth of an inch difference in width, but very noticable.

they stopped making all shortscale and A width mustangs in the late 60's or early 70's, i think

The 22.5" scale neck was phased out around 69-71, and I'm just not sure about the "A" width.

This might be helpful: The latest '65 mustang reissue (th eone they advertise as having more 'period correct' wood, sizing, hardware, etc. ) has a nut width of 1.625 (1 5/8").

All previous '69 type japanese reissues (solid colors as well as the comp stripe ones) have a 1.56 (same as the jag-stang, or roughly equivalent to the old Fender "A" neck width).

i dunno about that. i could swear they are all B width

My jap Mustang has virtually the same neck as my Jag-Stang and both are smaller than my jap Jaguar, which might suggest Mustang has an A neck?

really? this is odd. my compstang has the same nut width as my jaguar

ah, i've just looked at the fender japan website. and it's saying the nut width is 40mm. which is kind of inbetween an A and a B. almost a totally new specification based on metric
