Sure, it would be more versatile with a neck pickup, but it's not a one trick pony the way it is now. It's not like I'm playing with the same amp and effect settings all the time. And I wasn't looking for a versatile guitar, I was just looking for a beefier sounding guitar than my Mustang, knowing that I already liked the way Mustangs feel. There is a Carvin twin blade pickup under the cover.
