Hotrails vs JB Jr

Anyway, what are peoples thoughts/opinions on the two types of pickup?

has anyone had both and can compare them? What does a JB Jr sound like clean/mildly overdriven??

When played clean i think the JB.jr sound better than the Hotrail, the Hotrail have no tone, no bass. When played with distortion i think they both sound about the same, the Hotrail seem to have more ''power''/outpout. But if you can get a full sized Jb go for it, its still the best IMO.

It's gotta be a JB Jr...it do have a standard JB but that's going in my jag-stang!

i dunno, it's so hard finding the right pickups..the clips on the seymourduncan website and just SOO unhelpful!

I've got my American strat loaded with a JB Jr and my Standard w/ a hot rails... The JB is much more clear and defined, and the hot rails is for balls out lead. Not so great for rhythm.

problem is the strat has a 250k tone pot..so totally different sound that putting one into a jaguar.

I thuk ive decided on a hotrail..BUT the neck version (cos its a bit lower output). I want more mids and bass and less treble.

Wouldn't the neck version have LESS low end, to compensate for the increased low end given off in that position? Besides, the rating of the pot just changes the top end available a little, the tonal difference between a 250K and 500k pot is hardly huge.

JB Jr= more bass that Hotrails. If you want more bass, get the JB Jr, these dudes know their beans.

sorry i meant more low end that a JB Jr.

I thought Jb Jr = was voiced with less low end and more treble. Id better recheck the SD tonecharts.

Tone difference between 250k and 500k is like night and day..for me at least!! Well, with humbuckers anyway.
