Hi, I am currently building what will essentially be a homemade 27" scale jaguar baritone guitar (my apologies to anyone offended by my building a replica or whatever you may call it) but i have a couple of questions about jaguar hardware.
I am mainly a bass player and have had little to do with instruments with seperate bridges/tailpieces. I bought a jaguar bridge and the mounting thimbles, but am slightly confused as to how these assemble. Does the tention of the strings hold the bridge in place, or should it actually be secured in some way into the thimbles?
Also, i figured i would include the fender mute, while i was at it, and i bought the mute plate plus the foam. the mute plate has a single screw in the middle. From looking at diagrams etc, it seems that i also need some sort of metal cylinder and a spring. Could anyone tell me what these parts are/where i could get them/how they attach and work? Anything would be useful...especially any pictures of the parts that anyone could provide.
Finally one more question. Are there foum blocks the sit between the pickup claws and the body wood?
