Kurt didn't write that. The "Jag-Stang Reissue" was the second issue of the Jag-Stang that came out again in the late '90s I think, or was it '01 or something? Needless to say, it's not really a reissue, they just started selling them again.

they stopped making them between 2001 and 2003. and they've just stopped again now.

i think this guy is talking about the text inbetween the "jag-stang reissue" and the "fender" parts of that. i can't read it though.

i don't understand this. if you're asking if there are any differences between a 'reissue' and an 'original', then no there isn't

The text in the middle is some word processed specs of the guitar. It's clearly a piece of advertising for the Jag-Stang. I have Kurt Cobain's journals, all of which are written by his own hand, and it even has the actual plans for the Jag-Stang, alas, for obvious reasons he makes no mention of the "Jag-Stang Reissue". The drawings hardly look like the Fender version at all. It's clear that advert is inspired by his journals.

yeah. he wanted a tom bridge, jaguar trem, straight humbucker, jaguar neck pup, forarm and tummy contours, gumpy headstock and schaller tuners. it's rediculous. the guy obviously just wasn't assertive enough to push his real design through

he wanted a "'59 les paul" PAF in it too.

i'm guessing he figured he didn't know what he was doing since it's Fender, the awesome guitar company who made all his favourite stuff, and they have a team of experts waiting to build something for him. he probably thought his quirkiness and pairing of various old fender bits using cut-up polaroids and whathaveyou would get in the way of their progress, and so he let them do "whatever works best," which they took as "whatever's quicker/cheaper."

he had awesome plans with a jag tailpiece and stuff... basically kurt wanted a jag-stang, vs. a mustang with a funny shaped body (which is what he/we got)

The Jagtang is more of a Justang as far as ratio of Jaguar : Mustang is concerned. It really is just a dodgy shaped Mustang with a humbucker. Shame really.

Anyway, I might be parting with mine soon, I really want to get a Jaguar. I've realised that my tone relies on single coils these days, and I also love to get lots of sounds out of my guitar. Jaguar does all that, plus it's a shortscale. Thankyou Jag-Stang, but I guess it's goodbye!

I think hes wondering why it says "Jagstang Re-Issue" in kurts handwritting...because it is, he thinks the reissue was when it ffirst came out.

I think someone who can write like KC wrote that. Exact handwritting

The jagstang was indeed out of production in Japan for awhile before it got reissued. I know because I tried getting one around that time. Luckily for me they were re-issued and I had the money to buy one. I bought it in the last month of production (april this year). I bought it purely for collective purposes. It still has the plastic on the pick guard as well as the protective plastic on the bucker.
