Have you ever tried this pedal? What does it sound like?

ive never played thru one but have heard it before.it was pretty cool but the distortion IMO was not that great.being that its not made anymore its become a collectors item and ive seen them fetch quite abit on ebay.i would suggest the line 6 doctor distorto.im not usually one to suggest a line6 product but this pedal is pretty cool.it has infinite sustain and a cool feedback feature and you dont have to use the distortion if you dont want to.its a cool noise pedal.

The distortion alone is a bit feeble imo, but the feedback feature is excellent. It holds a note that sounds like a harmonic, one band that used this pedal extensively was 'Swervedriver' especially on the album 'mezcal head'. If you can get to hear any of that you'll get a good idea.

Did Cobain ever use this Distortion/Feedbacker pedal? He used a lot of feedback in his music anyway..

By the pictures of the Kurt's Equipment FAQ you can't really tell if the pedal is DS-2 or DF-2, because both look the same and the pics are pretty far away. Or were the last time I looked those...

Not that it would really matter, just came to my mind. 🙄

Never reported as having used a DF-2. Natural high gain feedback and the DF-2's feedback are pretty different sounds.

The main flaw (unless you like it i guess) with the DF-2 is that you play a note to start the feedback, and you can still hear that note with the artificial feedback. Otherwise its similar to a DS-1, maybe a bit thinner.
