Not really, he still has Ibanez on the headstock, and Ibanez class it as the same guitar, and from that pic at the start of this thread I think I did pretty damn well, I know nothing about that band.
Like I said, the Tom Delongue strat is still a strat, yet that has the same differences from a standard strat as that does from what it is a variant of. The TD strat has only one humbucker as opposed to 3 singlecoils, and only has one volume and no tone controlls. Oh, and it has a different bridge. An LP Junior is still a Les Paul despite the fact that it doesn't have the arch top, only has one pickup, tone and volume and has a different bridge.
You can split hairs all you like, to all intents and purposes it's the same guitar.
