Jagstang saddle string grooves

HI Jagstangerz!
I just got my 2021 MIM Jagstang and out of the box it has a bit of string buzz on the open A string. I just looked closely at the saddles and noticed that the string grooves are cut slightly differently wide from saddle to saddle. For example the string groove on the A string saddle is the most narrow of them all. The high E, B, G and D for example look wider than the A. I am not sure that this is the reason the open A string buzzes or if its even a problem at all but I am just wondering whether this is normal or if it is a small fault. Does all your new Jagstangs have varying width on the saddle string grooves? I guess its a Mustang type bridge on the Jagstang so I searched for pictures of Mustang bridges online and tried to zoom in but it looks like they all have string slots cut exactly the same width on every saddle.

Hi! Below is an image of the stock MIM Jag-Stang bridge/tailpiece. Are you able to isolate the precise location of the buzzing? Most often the buzzing is because the strings don't have quite enough tension are are too low. Easiest fix is usually putting on heavier gauge strings which increases string tension.

Al(ex) Thanks so much for the quick reply! I appreaciate it. I will definately try putting on 11:s and look over the string height and stuff like that. I also usually like being tuned down a half step which I want to make work without any buzzing. But aside from all that, I am still a bit puzzled about the string grooves on my saddles. I looked at the photo you attached and if you compare it with mine that I attach and zoom in on the string grooves on the saddles can you see the difference? Doesnt mine look inconsistent in width from saddle to saddle in comparison to the photo you attached? For example look at my A string groove. See how it is the most narrow one and then the high E and G are much wider? I know its almost a bit silly and it might not even be a problem but I am just curious and trying to figure out wether it is supposed to be like that or if it is some kind of factory machine cutting fault. What do you think?

ThorVelizelos It's difficult to tell from the photo if the grooves are different widths. The most important thing is actually the diameter of the saddles to match the radius of the neck. Usually the high and low E string saddles are a bit smaller in diameter and then the A/B are a bit bigger and then D/G are the biggest in diameter. Below is a good example showing the different diameter/height of the saddles. It might be worth having a local guitar tech check it out and see if there is some issue.

In regards to what you said: Luckily the diameter of the bullet saddles seems to be fine.
Unfortunately there is no good repairman where I live that would be able to say for sure if its faulty or not. I have emailed and sent photos to Thomann where I bought the guitar. I am pretty sure that the string buzz is coming from the saddle though because that is where the buzzing sound is coming from and the buzz can not be because of low action because the action is pretty high and when I hit the open A that buzzes the string is not touching any fret at all and also the nut looks fine. Its just the A and that is the saddle that has the most narrow string groove cut. I can at least see a difference on my photo compared to the two photos you posted where the string grooves look much more consistent. I mean, why is my A string saddle groove so much more narrow than the high E and B and all the other strings? Its a bit weird..
