New Jag-Stang, Any Tips?

Hey, I have a new Fiesta Red Jag-Stang amd was wondering if anyone has any pointers? It has never been modified. Here's what I was thinking:

1. Seymour-Duncan Hot Rails in the neck and a JB Trem in the bridge.

2. New Pots. I was thinking 250k. I haven't checked to see what kind is in there yet, so, uh, yeah.

3. Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings. (My Favorite!)

4. New pickguard. Definately. The one on it looks cheap. I was thinking either a solid white/black or a black pearloid.

5. Maybe get the tremelo locked down. I'm still deciding if I want to use it or not. Maybe I'll just keep it. This is probably a dumb question, but can it be reversed? I want to be 100% sure.

Uh, thats all I can think of right now. If I think of something else, I'll include it. Thanks! Any suggestions?

sounds good. why not 500k pots?

im pretty sure it already has 250k pots...i kept my trem usable...why take away from the guitars ability to use a wammy?

CTS pots, black and white cloth wire, new bone nut and new pickguard FTW!!!

I suggest you sell the guitar and buy one that you like. There's no point having a Jag-Stang if you're going to mod the hell out of it already. All these "mods" that people have come up with are to meet their own playing styles, by the sounds of it you've not really come into contact with any problems yet, you're just going to mod it for the sake of it. Play your Jag-Stang, play it a lot and then decide what you want to do with it. Don't be a Lemming.

I'm not really modifiying anything major. Just a pickguard and pickup change and maybe new pots. I don't mean I just got it, I've had it for a couple of months now. Oh, and the reason I was thinking about locking down the tremelo was because I heard it makes it stay in tune better.

i myself wouldn't bother changing the pots. as the ones on it already should be 250k. if you're not happy with pickups, then the ones you suggested might be better. other than that, i'd just tape the bridge posts and call it good. and obviously, changing pickguard is done to your own taste

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. I already taped down the bridge posts.
