Hi all. This is probably a seemingly silly question, but it's part of a long journey of discovery that I've been trying to solve in regards to Jagstang history. Oddball that it is, I've always loved this guitar and always been interested in the history . I think I know as much as there is "out there" to know about it, but one question has always escaped me: I'm sure many of us have seen or owned the "Designed by Kurt Cobain" vinyl sticker on the back of the headstock of the earlier runs (definitely the initial run, possibly also the 2003-2005 fun, definitely not in the 2021- MIM run); was this ever an embedded decal underneath the lacquer on any of the production models, or was it only ever a vinyl sticker on the surface?
I have seen a couple of photographs online that seem to show an embedded version of the text, but there is no way to know if those were actually done on the production models or custom-made aftermarket (or possibly even photoshopped). As a side note, I have done this myself: I had replica waterslide decals custom made and then embedded one under coats of polyurethane lacquer on the back of one of my JS headstocks so that it looks completely "invisibly floating" along with the serial number)
So does anyone have any idea on this, and/or does anyone own a Jagstang with an embedded decal, or were they all stickers? Thanks!
