  1. I'm not in the UK, but I'd at least like to see pics!
  2. It's a Demel 12-string: http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/eq/gtr119.html
  3. No, they're called a purse over here.
  4. That's funny, because I have you marked as a friend!
  5. I don't think you represent everyone in your age bracket though. I'd be willing to bet there are a fair number of people around your age that did/do hold them in highest regards; it's not just all young kids going through high school. It seems like you're saying because you personally weren't affected by them no one else should be either. And because you were put off by some of his image/vibe other people should be too. Different people, different situations. Is it really that difficult to understand?
  6. And I'm supposed to care? You couldn't even defend yourself, you had to resort to nitpicking spelling. Pathetic.
  7. is a "genious" to moran, as genius is to moron? Remind me, am I writing a resume or in an online forum? Thanks for contributing to the thread topic by the way, hypocrite!
  8. You should change your signature to "humbuckers are always the best choice for all styles of music just because they're more money" - fitting! example of somms telling someone how to spend money, which makes him a hypocrite. I was being sarcastic, genious. Point reversed.
  9. No. I just think it's silly to go out of your way to Cobain-bash just because some people are fanatical about him. You like the Spacemen 3 guitarist, fine; I don't think it was necessary to draw Kurt into that.
  10. We get it, you don't like Nirvana. Move on. There are some intelligent Nirvana fans that also like other music, and I happen to think I am one of them. somms, I think a sign of intelligence would be to go on a thread title "most EFFECTIVE jag/jazz user" and actually tell us who you think fits the bill. Anyone who's ever changed the subject being discussed is non-intelligent? Have you ever actually talked to someone in real life? Just about everyone everywhere must be non-intelligent by that brilliant rule of yours. I think you're really grasping for straws... No, telling someone else how to value their own well-earned money would make somebody a full blown imbecile. Seriously.

  12. For me it's a hobby. I loved Kurt's live tone, so I enjoy trying to buy the pieces of the puzzle to recreate it on my own. I started with a Cobain-like Jaguar, then bought the rest of his rig. However, I own many other guitars and amps that give me variety - including a couple of stock Jaguars. I think for some on here it is just a hobby to have similar gear to Kurt's, and I don't know that buying a Cobain Jag automatically makes them or me unoriginal. If the whole point is to buy a guitar that you like, then maybe some just like his guitars better than others (no matter the reason). Why is that hard for some to accept? To deny that and say that an SG or something is effectively as good is denying yourself what you really want if you had your heart set on a guitar similar to one of Kurt's. It's sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy, because you know you're not going to be happy with anything other than THAT (Kurt or whoever) guitar.
  13. That's interesting, and I kind of wondered about doing that. I was really hoping I'd be able to install the HB without much modification, and this is looking like the way to go.
  14. Thanks, that makes the most sense of anything I've seen so far.
  15. I have a couple of questions about putting a full-sized humbucker in a jazzmaster: 1) How do you install the pickup ring, since I assume the 4 screw holes in the ring are not mounted over the body, but are over the empty route left by the soapbar? 2) How do you get the humbucker to stay in place inside the cavity?
