  1. The problem with this is there is no progression in design so companies like Fender stop creating new ideas and churn out 10 variations of the Strat and Tele every year. Yawn. :-tired

This. Then those same silly players play those same ole blues that they always have on them. Meh.

  2. you guys are sad, pathetic hopeless #### who make them selves feel better by mocking people on the internet. You are small small stupid callow ####. I hope you feel big now. I hope it rots in you that you can't #### just TRY to be polite of helpful. I hope deep down under your fcuking bravado that you know that you are disgusting rude and simply typical sarcastic boring internet users. Your just like everyone else trying to look witty and cool. I now can see how hard you try and again I just think you're sad.

but to those of you who are tied to make me feel welcome. I commend you and thank you.

    Regards The Doctor.

After seeing your penis I've decided I cannot look at you any longer. I warmly welcome you to this forum and hope you stay, if you agree to wear some pants you son of a b i t c h.

  3. I detected sarcasm, and lots of it, but if you say I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, because only you knew your intentions.

I'm one of those suckers who thinks that people who are new to the forum should be made to feel welcome, not driven away and made to look foolish when they offer advice to people.

I will agree with this. We should keep him around to deal with the Kurtz Kidz and helping them out 'cos none of them apparently know how to use a search feature. However I really wish he would have responded with a, "Yes I love Kurt!" before Henry's mask was removed.

  4. Makes it more 'airy' but in contrast the mdf body and finish make it very bright.

Besides the looks (matter of taste i suppose) the neck is the great thing on this guitar. It is ergonomically designed to reduce fatigue. Feels like its tailored to your hand, and as far as i know Lindert are the only company to ever try this build approach.

That makes it sound like as if they know yr hand shape before you bought it. What's MDF mean?

  5. Alternatively you can do what kurt cobain done, put a block of hard rubber in there between the knife plate (the piece that is inside and moves) and body and tighten the screw so the knife plate is flush against the tremolo plate so its 100% hardtail, wont move at all. (the knife plate is sandwiched between the tremolo plate, the top bit that says fender, and the block of very hard rubber.)

Cool, where did you hear about this?

Also, why would someone prefer a Jaguar tremolo over a Strat one?

    Because its better lol.

Matter of taste, the Jag trem seems smoother and more gradual, the Strat trem is more dramatic.

Soo very true. Its much easier to grab while playing, than a Strat trem as well.

I vote you get Jag w/ a hard tail as well...Or a Mustang cos their vibrato units suck anyway, unless ofc someone can inform me on a method of keeping that grub screw in there.

  6. They're acoustic sound pockets under the tweed.

I have a video but its old and crap. I'm going to redo quite a few demo's soon now i have a better way of recording. ;)

Noice. Does that give it more of a brighter sound?

  7. Hi every one, I have been looking on the forum for a while, but heres my first post and I don't yet have a Jag-stang, but in about a month or so I will have a custom one built, but so far here is my 1973 Fender Bronco I just got a few days ago.

Sorry about the camera phone pic's, but its all i have to take pic's with for now.

But I have a few questions and hopefully you guys can answer some. Do you know what type of pickup is in it, I know its like a mustang and duo-sonic, but are they diffrent pickups or the same pickups, like did they make ones that where specifically made for mustangs and ones specifically made for duo's or are they the same? Also What color is this? I've searched the web and it seems some people say its fiesta red, but on wiki it dosen't say any thing about that color, is this just the color red they use to have before they started using dakota red, fiesta red as such? Well I hope you like the pic's and can help me out with some of my questions. Thanks

    Nice lookin' geetar man

  8. Reminds me to machine out the pup spaces on my pearl pickguard for my jag, still has it's tortoise shell one currently (it's sunburst). The one problem of routing out for new pups is that pickguards need routing too :( Nightmare.

I would honestly think routing a pickguard is easier than routing a body.

Depends what tools you have. I have found cutting pickguards to be a nightmare process.

    Also, yup, beautiful Jag.

I believe it, but it's undoubtedly easier than routing a chunk of wood. Though if you screw up there is that upside of it being covered by the pick guard.

  9. Haha I hadn't noticed the head stock was a Thumbs up in your original picture. Crazy lookin geetar Fran! Do you have any videos uploaded playing it? And I feel like an idiot asking this after reading the wiki link, is the tweed, just for looks or a built in speaker on it?

  11. yeah, check each switch with a multimeter, check the pots are working properly. It should be pretty easy to work out. If you get about 8000 ohms reading, you know you're getting ground-hot, if you get 0, then you've got a short, 6000 ohms or whatever it is should be your neck pickup.

Will have to do this! Just surprised the guitar shop didn't notice anything wrong w/ any of the parts....If I were superstitious I'd say this guitar was cursed when it was sold to me.

  12. Alrighty. This has been a long tedious process. The pickups initially were broken, frayed wires...I sent em back to Seymour, got em back in the mail, "as is." But the wires weren't frayed, I took that to mean, they were functional. I tried to get it to work by myself again, didn't take. I took it into the guitar shop, left it with them for 1 month and 3 weeks, and a couple of days. They told me the pickups were junk. I decided to toss them into my simple Jazzmaster, they work fine. So I wired my Red Jazzy like my Green Jazzy. All its set up to use is Volume/Tone/3 way switch. It doesn't work. I used all 3 sets of pickups on it, it just wont work. I traded out the 3 way switch, gave it another go. Still doesn't work.

I'm going to try and switch the volume pots tomorrow. If this doesn't work, does anyone have any ideas just based on this paragraph here? What else could it be, tone...input? I really hope I get this finished soon. 4 months or so...whoa.

  13. OMG. The Holy Grail. Its Jesus's Jaguar :-wow:-wow:-wow

    $1,600,00

Quite surprised, is that the going rate for a refin'd 66 b&b Jaguar?! You'd assume the buyer will have to refin it again too.

I suspect one of them guys on offset with 3 swimming pools in his garden will turn it out in Shell Pink or something.

Yeah, it was going for like 500 at the time.

However, whoever bought it, didn't buy it. The guy wanted to end the sale early, cos he already sold it locally and kept retracting the bidders' bids. That's why it was so amazingly cheap. I was surprised to see this one go for so low.

At least I think that's cheap...that's like the price of a new one...should definitely be more than that.
