  4. *Updated pic of my 65 RI after i routed for a SD JB, and put a red tort guard on it.
  5. i let my dad try and route it..he ####ed it up..but it works for me. i did the routing near the bridge plate, cant even tell i did anything to it
  6. it looks awesome with the stripe...go for it
  7. not too much to be done to it. just around the neck and the left edge of the guard near the bridge plate. the screw holes fit fine for mine. hopefully it fits man. just look at my pics i posted on everything that might need routing.
  8. id hire you for my future house..ill keep u in mind
  9. if he's telling the truth id kick him in the balls for selling it..i would never get rid of a guitar givin to me by the most famous rockstar at that time, and also he deserves another kick in the balls for drilling a hole in it..LEAVE IT ALONE!
  10. Blue with the tort pickguard looks soo good, excellent choice. Doe sthe humbucker take it close to Jag-Stang or Cyclone territory? My latest guitar-finding quest lies with the Squier Cyclone. That's gonna be tough to find thanks man..the humbucker is so great..i guess the bucker takes it close to the jagstang..but i wouldnt know cuz ive never played a cyclone..i almost bought one though..white with red tort guard..it looked awesome.
  11. i was gonna use a jagstang guard on mine but i didnt have it in red tort so i used the one i bought from guitarpartsresource.
  12. Ain't that the truth... Of the ones I saw, I would go for the blue. The contrast beween the body, pickguard, and pickups is just great. Sadly, I don't think any of them had matching headstocks, but that might be a CIJ thang. I dunno... edit: by the way, tyler, what colour did you end up with, and have you posted a pic in the thread? i ended up with the daphne blue..here are some pics of it before and after i did #### to it http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj12 ... G_0193.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj12 ... G_0194.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj12 ... G_0195.jpg and after... http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj12 ... ang001.jpg it didnt have enough punch for me when i got it so i added a seymour duncan JB and had to add a tort guard like the kurtdz..its the best guitar ive played or ever had. i love it
  13. here are the pics of my stang with the guard from guitarpartsresource and the routing i did to make it fit and i routed the guard and the body for a full size humbucker... http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj12 ... ang001.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj12 ... ang002.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj12 ... ang003.jpg the routing isnt pretty i know but it works...
  14. when i bought my stang i had a hard time choosing between the olympic white and the daphne blue..both godly colors on a stang
  15. im havin the same problem, none of the guards i buy for my 65 RI fit either..im just wastin money
