  1. Further update:

I took it back, and got it 'fixed'. Then when I bought it home and played it again, not only did the neck pickup still sound muddy and yuck, not only was the tone control still disconnected, but ALL of the pickups now sound muddy and yuck, as though the humbucker is active in EVERY position.

So I called the tech and had an argument with him (he was trying to tell me that it's all correct and the other pickups sound that way because they are 'not that good'), so eventually I just strummed some chords in each position and got him to agree that it wasn't right. He actually suspects something is wrong with the pickup itself. He has taken the guitar yet again, said he will re-wired the whole things, and if the problem remains, he will drop in another hotrail that he has lying around.

This just ain't good enough :-(

Aw That sucks man, stick with your old guitar tech for sure. but Im sure it will work out in the long run, and when it does DEMO!

  2. Maybe not to you, but I've had a Squier Strat flipped lefty for 7 years. I'd consider getting a JS a big deal for me. ITs all perspective I suppose, I just think its a nice guitar to have. I don't mean its some difficult task, I hope you can understand what I'm saying, if not I need to be able to make myself more clear

I know what you mean, I've been lusting over a supersonic for the last 5 years. I've never even seen one for sale in australia.

  3. Sonic Youth. What's that?

Well, just to let everyone know I've put the TOM on the Jag and it's pretty much fine! Sounds just out-of-tune enough to make me sound cool!

I haven't wrapped the posts yet as I've been having too much fun to take the strings off again.

Thanks everyone, for all your crazy ideas and to Earth for typing in the infernal method, woah

Now I'm going to wash some brains with me old ghost notes oh yeah!

    are you for real? :-hmmm

"Sonic Youth is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1981. The current lineup consists of Thurston Moore (vocals and guitar), Kim Gordon (vocals, bass, guitar), Lee Ranaldo (vocals and guitar), Steve Shelley (drums), Mark Ibold (bass, guitar)

In their early career, Sonic Youth was associated with the No Wave art and music scene in New York City. Part of the first wave of American noise rock groups, the band carried out their interpretation of the hardcore punk ethos throughout the evolving American underground that focused more on the DIY ethic of the genre rather than its specific sound. As a result, some[who?] consider Sonic Youth as pivotal in the rise of the alternative rock and indie rock movements. The band has experienced success and critical acclaim throughout the last three decades, continuing into the new millennium, including signing to major label DGC in 1990, and headlining the 1995 Lollapalooza festival.

Sonic Youth have expressed a wide variety of influences, ranging from the influential protopunk musician Patti Smith to composer John Cage. The band has been praised for having "redefined what rock guitar could do", using a wide variety of unorthodox guitar tunings, and preparing guitars with objects like drumsticks and screwdrivers to alter the instruments' timbre."

onw of the best band of all time IMO!
