  1. I'd go with the '63, few reasons: 1) It has the cool factor, plain and simple. The Olympic White with a tort pickguard and aged pick up covers is a classic look. Plus, it still has what appears to be the original bridge cover, which is a great find as these are generally removed and lost to time. Plus, who can beat a matching 'stock? 2) Pre-CBS instruments tend to last a little longer, from what I've found. I'm not as vehemently anti-CBS as some Fender fans, but I have seen a difference in quality. Some of the CBS instruments are absolute crap, and if you can't play it first, always go pre-CBS. 3) The case on the pre-CBS, while certainly not original (I may be wrong though), appears to be a period piece. The faded orange rug on the inside is typical of guitar cases of the 60s and 70s. The other case (the one for the sunburst Jaguar) appears to be just some random case (based on the design, maybe mid to late 80's?). From the looks of it, not a very protective one either. So I'll reiterate: Go with the 1963 Jaguar . When/ if you get it, be sure to post pics (or even a video/ sound sample). Hope this helps. -Cy
  2. I'm considering giving him the benefit of the doubt here... Unlike Kurddtdtz, he's been fairly straight forward. The issue is that he regularly acts like an idiot (unlike Kurdtstsxtz, who was a pathological liar AND an idiot IMHO). If he says that he might get the Mustang, I have more reason to believe him then not. Plus, if he gets it, there will be no more, "2 nickels + tube sock 4 ur jag stang?"
  3. Hell yah! Cheers guys, I'm glad you like it. Needs moar competition striping... It's rare that I'll say that (as generally I think it's kind of too much), but I think that the guitar would look great with some white comp stripes (and maybe a matching white pickguard). Still, that is a sexy Duo. Big Duo fan myself (I've owned 2 ). I dare say I like the Duo more than the Mustang ...
  4. Foxy, do you still have that sexy, glitchy fuzz pedal? That thing is quality. I might be getting a Blue Box for my fuzz t0nez.
  5. I like Them Crooked Vultures, quite a bit in fact. I think they're pretty great. That being said, I don't agree with the falling-all-over-themselves response people have to them. They're not THAT amazing. They're great, but it's not like they re-invented rock n' roll .
  6. If you really want to be creative, and have the time and money, I'd suggest making it out of mahogany. Personally, I feel that mahogany has a very "classic" sound, and a very "round" when used in a hollowbody or semi-hollowbody. My first electric guitar was made of mahogany and it sounded great! Good luck with the project! Be sure to detail it out and take plenty of pictures for us here on the intert00bz .
  7. When I play guitar, I tend to play in Drive Like Jehu/ Fugazi/ Sonic Youth type bands. There really is no definitive "lead" or "rhythm", so I just put lead, because 9/10 times I'm the guy making the funny high pitched noises...
  8. that is because your is The Nicest one i have ever seen, unlike a vintage jag a vintage a musicmaster could be a guitar i Might someday be able to own. i dont mind if you dont tell me tho. Translation: Foxxy wants to buy one and feels the need to know what you paid so he can make a decent offer.

  11. FAIL So fail, it is sigged It somehow doesn't work if the reader doesn't know it's from this thread... You need a way to include that...

  13. Any Ric or Jazzmaster pickup you might get will require body routing... I'd say try playing it with the stock pickups first. They're single coils. If not, I say go 2 Ric pickups or 2 Jazzmaster pickups...
  14. Right-o! Best of luck with the interesting build .
  15. I see no evidence that points to the aforementioned jaguar being homosexual. Please explain the reasoning behind your assumption for my enlightenment.
  16. It would be easier to put a Jazzmaster vibrato in a standard Mustang than into a Cyclone .
  17. Do it up!!! They need to sell those Cyclones here so I could buy six more! *drools* ille do it sum time tomor ille try to get them up how can i get one of these cyclones btw? Move to Japan... Slow down on the posts a bit man. You're being a tad insane...
