  1. http://www.fender.com/en-GB/products/pawnshop i couldnt find this on the forum but here aare some new sexy fenders including a mustang HH!!!!!!!! they seem to be in the same state of mind a the blacktop with the humbukcers and all and theres the fender '51...kind of ironic dont you think enjoy
  2. can you get japanese fenders in europe? maybe through a store or something?
  3. fender strat, jaguar, telecaster, jazzmaster, mustang, cyclone gibson les paul, firebird gretsch white falcon ibanez jem with jamaican colour sceme (saw one live but its not on the webiste) thats it really...
  4. i tried a jag today...very bright. not sure 100% if i like it...it just feels so different (i presume this is normal whan you've only played strats for over a year. but i think i like it. can it go slightly less trebly with a good EQ? i also tried an SG...the neck was too thick though and it was very uncomfortable but the sound really nice
  5. yeah this thread got side tracked... i need to go play them. unforetunatly they dont stock any jazzes where i go only jags
  6. damn... now i need a jazzy as well. there are way too many coll guitars out there which are all in my price range. listened to zep yesterday and now i want an LP what next? ill think illl just buy the jag...i was also listning to counting crows today. mr jones has a jag in it (or at least the vid does) and it has such a nic sound for chords
  7. http://rhcprock.free.fr/totalguitar_john.htm it says he used a jazzy for the video but he clearly uses a jag. maybe you heard it from here?
  8. But just to elaborate on that... The part was played on a Jazzy, I believe. you sure...never saw him play or mention a jazzy
  9. really? thats good to know. ill prob go after the jag but il still try out the baja telecaster
  10. looked at demos...still cant decide!!! but i think im leaning into the jag
  11. you're a moron. Even modern Boss aren't dumb enough to purposefully design a distortion pedal which doesn't have a good lead sound. The pedal just sucks, get over it. no need to call me a moron... i personally dont think its that bad...at least not half as bad as people say. while i admit that it isnt the nicest (far from it) it is much better rhythm than lead. power chord rhythm (ala nirvana) sounds much nicer than trying to play a blues solo thourgh it...maybe they didnt do it purposefully but the DS-2 seems to be more suited to lead guitar and it shows
  12. i need a warm neck tone with a dry bridge tone. i want it to handle dist decently but be good clean. i also was it to ring out in chords my amp is a marshall jcm 800 bass amp which sound really good bu has no drive setting so i use a ds-2 ( which i love) You say you want a 'dry' bridge tone that will 'ring out' chords. It sounds like a difficult juggling act. Can you give an example of a song with the tone you are looking for? But I would say that if you after 'dry' - even though I'm not even sure what that means - I would rule out a tele. Out of everything a tele bridge pickup could be called, I don't think 'dry' is one of them It actually sounds like it may be a Jaguar sound you are after, but they don't come cheap. for ringing out chords imagine under the bridge and for dry imagine if you have to ask (the bridge doesnt have to ring...the neck can )...yeah i know...loads of rhcp i would look at a jazzmaster but they dont have where i go to buy and where i go to buy are the fender agents for my area (and i prefer to try before i buy for obvious reasons) at the same shop the jag is like 750 euro which im willing to spend (been saving up for a year not buying anything that i dont need whle playing loads of guitar and still getting good grade...ive worked hard for this )

  14. i was hoping for something better than a squier (although i love mine)...any other ideas? also what does everyone think about the baja telecaster? There are those in the world who believe the Classic Vibe series are equal to - if not better than - the MIM Fenders. But if you are determined to have something that says 'Fender' on the headstock (which is a desire I completely understand), but still keeping the spending down, then yeah, and MIM might be the way to go. There is also a new Fender series called the American Special, or American Standard or something like that. What they are (I believe) are Fenders that are made in the USA (where the craftsmanship and quality control are supposedly better), but they are made with slightly cheaper components to keep the costs down. I understand the prices for these are about the same as for MIM's. That said, I haven't seen this series being heavily promoted, but I'm sure the Fender website can shed some light. its not that i dont want a squier...rather that i want one of the higher end MIM...like a classic player or a jag or something like that imo my best bets are either classic 60s telecaster, baja telecaster or classic player jaguar what are people experiences with these?
  15. Er... no? Kurt's had 2 of the 2-way switches replaced with 1 3-way switch, everything else was the same controls-wise, it still had the bass cut and the rhythm circuit. Oh wait, no, he also ADDED an extra tone control. The only one of these I like even remotely is the Jazzmaster. The others might as well just be Les Paul Specials for all they've got going for them. They don't even look nice. besides the rhyth mcircuit it is based on (or simply similar to) KC's jag 2 humbukers and a 3 way switch (or this isnt a 3 way switch but somethin else i see over there?)
  16. i was hoping for something better than a squier (although i love mine)...any other ideas? also what does everyone think about the baja telecaster?
  17. i think the jag is meant to be like kurt cobains...ie no complex switches.
  18. a good intermediate guitar...say 600-800 euro, maybe slightly more but i wouldnt like to spend that much while i know that i dont need humbuckers for grunge (mike mcCready didnt use humbuckers for ten) i would like to able to get a different sound and the strats pick ups arent too great so in order to make it not obsolete i think i will change them. a compltely different sound imo would give me more variation (i know it wont be that different but different enough)
  19. I dunno. I guess it's hard to do a good demo with a sack of shit pedal. whether or not the pedal is good or bad (while not the best it does have a certain sound which other pedals dont do) pgs didnt show what it was aimed at. they tried to make it do light crunch and good lead which it does not do and isnt aimed to do
  20. would the bridge in my strat (is i change it to a hot rail) be enough for grunge and muse? the funk tone i like is more based around the bridge pick up...very dry and with twang sort of like of if you have to ask in general though how good are coil taps compared to real single coils?
  21. i dont really think they did a good demo...especially where they tried to get a light crunch with the strat or when they said it has a compressed sound its a good pedal imo but i prefer the DS-2
  22. i would prefer to keep to single coils but what if i were to add a hotrail to my strat (so it would still have a use and ill be able to get more sounds)? also if i were to get a humbucker guitar what about the jag HH. and how does the coil split compare to the normal SS jag?
