  1. yeah used to be a company you could get lefty mustangs, jaguars, so on. but they went out of business. warmoth sucks for lefties.
  2. there was a company a few years back that was making righty and lefty jagstang bodies. I think since then they've gone out of business. warmoth makes them in righty. does anyone know of any companies now that will make a lefty jagstang body?
  3. you can look at yo mustang while you play yo mustang while you look at yo mustang.
  4. this is a lovely lovely build! great great work you did here!
  5. thanks guys. yeah it was a fun project. i did pick up a cool lefty ibanez recently tho.
  6. had some family issues and after that lost interest.
  7. just wanted to update people that im not longer doing this project. for all that asked, i painted the body first, then applied the strips in reverse order and then put on the daphne blue. musiKraft will make the neck you need. remember the rosewood is a veneer thin type of wood. the dots are the close together at 12th fret kind and are mother of pearl. the headstock logo is the most difficult to source. its a mustang BASS logo and just says fender.
  8. just get this 107716099 SOLIDBODY ELECTRIC VINTAGE FENDER MUSTANG 70S COMP BLUE WC Details » Guitars Guitar Center Raleigh Raleigh, North Carolina 27604 919-872-0331 View Store's Used Inventory Contact Store Now Only $1,899.99 GUITARS | SOLIDBODY ELECTRIC Available In: Raleigh Telephone: 919-872-0331 Manager: Eli Higginbotham VINTAGE FENDER MUSTANG 70S COMP BLUE WC
  9. those old mesa's dont act like your run of the mill guitar amp. even the markII's from the 80's have odd settings. the mid on those all the way up on that mesa is different than turning the mids all the way on a new or "modern" amp. buy a .22+ practice amp and a ds-2 and youll have kurts tone. although on the in utero recordings its so obviously a fender tone, cant escape that hollow booming tone of a classic fender and prestine clean sound!!
  10. id rather have the real univox. has better mojo. wouldnt take long to find a real white phase 4 for that price.
  11. they do make lefties of these. check ebay
  12. sg standard, a GIBSON? i dunno how fair a deal thatd be but. thats a real vintage mustang so just depends it you really really want a mustang, honestly, if it were me, id take that 200 plus bucks and just get the squier mustang. and keep the SG. youll regret getting rid of a SG when the fun of the mustang wears off.
  13. hey, righties heres your chance!!! 107716099 SOLIDBODY ELECTRIC VINTAGE FENDER MUSTANG 70S COMP BLUE WC Details » Guitars Guitar Center Raleigh Raleigh, North Carolina 27604 919-872-0331 View Store's Used Inventory Contact Store Now Only $1,899.99 GUITARS | SOLIDBODY ELECTRIC Available In: Raleigh Telephone: 919-872-0331 Manager: Eli Higginbotham VINTAGE FENDER MUSTANG 70S COMP BLUE WC
  14. my first real electric was a lefty jagstang, bought brand new in 96. had it for about three years and grew out of it. wish i still had it, i learned on that guitar and it seems that anything else i play just feels wrong. :/
  15. found this one cheap on craigslist, worth checking out. http://medford.craigslist.org/msg/3219918212.html
  16. i think its pretty awesome actually, it seems they wanted something a bit more contempary without changing too much, medium jumbo frets, 9.25 raduis, truss ross in the headstock, better style pick up's. im thinking this would be a better student model than a stock mustang these days. i really dont see this being the end of the standard mustang at all, its just way too popular.
  17. thanks, its been a really weurd experience so far. im sorry to hear about your dad as well.
  18. thanks guys! my mom just passed away so its kinda hard to get into the prject just yet, i will post pictures as soon as i can.
  19. loved reading this. id leave the control plate on, if it looked like crap id say get rid of it, but it looks good. id just get a tone knob for it.
  20. hey, guys. thanks. been having some family issues so i havent been able to really work on this project. as soon as i can get back to it, ill update the thread.
  21. "The forearm contour is slightly softer and wider then my 69RI but feels great." thats cause its USA specs, not Japan
  22. 52 for a low E is pretty thick, youd have to have the guitar set up again for thicker strings like that. i am convinced this is your issue all along. did you ever get everything fixed up?
