  1. Hey all, Is there is a difference in shape or size for the pickup control plate between the American and Japanese Jaguars? I'm having a custom plate made for my Japanese jag at http://www.sharp-concepts.com/. I sent my own template based on the original in my guitar, but they seem to have their own template already. I'm just concerned about the size coming out right and the thing still fitting in my guitar. Thanks!
  2. Hey all, I changed the pots in my Jaguar to a 500K volume pot, and 250K tone pot. The change sounds good, but now the volume pot only serves as a tone knob, and does not turn the volume down. I did not change anything else, I rewired exactly as it was wired before. Is there something I should change? Caps or resistors? Also, if I want to add a treble bleed, is there something else to change were I to make add the mod?
  3. Hey thanks, Yeah, I mean the sound gets dull as I turn the volume down. My SG, for instance, doesn't do this. I'm not sure if it's the difference in pick ups (SC vs HB). I don't really use the strangle switch, and always leave it in the down position.
  4. Hey all, New to this forum, so this is my first post. I have a Japanese Jaguar that I absolutely love. I bought it new in 2005 while teaching over in Japan, and have slowly been making necessary mods to it. The relevant upgrade to this subject is the pickups; I switched the neck pickup to an SJAG-1, and the bridge to an SJAG-2, had them both wax potted. The things sounds pretty sweet. My problem is the volume pot. When I turn down below 8 or so, it loses all definition and punch, it just gives up the funk in ever conceivable way. This is untenable to my ears and playing. Any advice out the
