  1. Alright , so I'll see about the comp stripe later. Can you recommend a site that ships left-handed guitar parts worldwide , and in a decent price ? (I don't want to pay 50 bucks a part , it's just a guitar for studying the process). And by the way , what about the control plate ? will it fit ? if not , can I get a link to a left handed one ? I've been looking online for a while now and I thought I'd build her with a Tele style bridge , which I found on eBay already. I want her to have a special pickguard , kinda like the custom 51 , with a few mods. got a recommendation for a cheap , easy-to-work-with material for a pickguard ?
  2. I'm going to build a guitar soon - based on the forgotten Fender Swinger model , using a few modifications that are on the Mustang , to make it sort of a hybrid of those two , a Swing-stang if you will. I'd like to ask a few questions before building it since it's my first time : 1. can you flip a bridge and a tail peace and make it left handed ? I want to put a Les Paul style bridge and tail peace on it but I can't find a decently-priced left handed one , so can I just flip a right handed piece and it'll work as well as a left handed one ? 2. Does somebody have the Swinger blueprints ? I decided I'd make the body sketch off my mustang , I just want to know the right proportions. 3 . How do you make a comp stripe ? I've painted guitars before but never with a comp stripe ... do you just put masking tape on them ? can you use your basic ducktape or do you need some special tape to make it smoother ? 4 . I found a store on eBay that sells right-handed Mustang control covers pretty cheap (less then 10 bucks) , and I want to know if they'll fit a lefty or do I need a special lefty one ?
  3. I have a list lol (that's actually my dream list): Fender Jaguar - white Fender Jazzmaster - tobacco burst , black pickguard and headstock , dual humbuckers Fender Mustang - red Fender Toronado - metallic gold with black stripe and pickguard Fender Swinger - comp stripe orange Fender Jaguar Bass - dark green , matching headstock , black guard Fender Jazz Bass 62 reissue - sunburst , 3TS guard Fender 5 string Jazz and maybe a Les Paul Traditional in cherry sunburst. All guitars - left handed.

  5. Search his place , ask him questions , look at his face to see if he's acting suspicious (things like looking away or face-twitching are hints of lying) , trick him with questions and try to expose the truth.
  6. Guys I have less than 3 days left. Isn't there anyone who can help ?
  7. If you think you'll have size problems you should go with the Mustang , although they're not that different. The best thing to do in my opinion is just to go out there and play on them both and see for yourself.
  8. Daaaaammmnnn ! that is one fine piece of art you've got there , and a lefty too ! dude I can easily say I kinda envy you at the moment I hope this thing plays as good as it looks , I mean sure , I've heard lots of Youtube demos but nothing comes close to the real deal. And if you don't mind me asking - how much did you pay for this beauty ? I'm thinking about getting one myself but these are just too expensive
  9. Well , you can always find a great deal if you're lucky , plus - I'll have more than a month to search the city. And I don't really care for stuff like dings and scratches , as long as it's not abused , and playable , it's fine by me.
  10. A lefty ?!? well , can't say I'm not jealous at the moment ... Good luck ! Let us know when you'll get it (and upload some pics too !) And btw , If you know any place in NYC that sells used Jags/Mustangs at a reasonable price (like 500-700$) , please let me know,
  11. I think that you should either get the Cobain Jaguar , which has the 2 humb####ers , or the Cobain Mustang , which has 1 humb####er and 1 single-coil. But really , the Jag with the humb####ers is your best choice (you can always get the Blacktop series if you can't afford the Cobain one ... but if you're a lefty , tough luck)
  12. Umm ... anyone ? I've got less then 2 weeks left before the flight ...
  13. Thanks man ! really appreciate it ! And can you still tell me what streets should I go to ?
  14. Brooklyn ? That's awesome , I'll be staying in Brooklyn Got any specific streets I should go to ? Brooklyn is pretty big after all ... And I've searched the NYC craigslist , but there was nothing there for lefties... And did you see any LEFT-HANDED guitars that are about 500-600$ ? 'cause I'll definitely "settle" for a Jaguar/Jazzmaster. Please reply as soon as you can , I have like 2.5 weeks left until I'm there.
  15. Hi everyone ! I'm flying to NYC in about a month , and I want to buy a Fender Mustang out there. The only problem is the price - the only lefty Mustang is the Cobain signature , which is about 950$ . I really want a Mustang but I highly doubt I'll have that kind of money (plus , I'll still need a couple hundred b####s for sightseeing and such) . Is there a place in NYC which sales cheap lefty Mustangs ? I don't care if it's a Jap reissue , an old vintage one or a modified one , and don't care if it's used , even with dings and scratches. (When I say cheap I mean like 400-600 b####s , something like that , maybe 700 if it's worth the shot). P.S : If you'll find a place that sells cheap lefty Jaguars/Jazzmasters/Jagstangs , that's fine too , those are my "backup plan" guitars.
