  1. I am routing it to fit Humbuckers, (SH-4 JB Bridge Humbucker & SH-2 Jazz Model Neck Humbucker) changing the bridge to a Mustang one, or something better ( happy to hear any recommendations ) I’ll be using CTS 1 MEG pots for volume and tone, as well as the Orange Drop Capacitor .047uf ( hopefully this will give it a nice bright tone ? ) will try and make the top switch a Parallel & Series switch, as well as having the coil splits on the bottom switches.. I’d love to hear your opinio
  2. Hi. I am planning on modding my Surf Green Squire vintage modified jaguar to have 2 4 wire humbuckers, a three way toggle switch, and a coil tap on the neck pickup, however I want to keep the rhythm circuit and low cut switch. (basically similar to a Kurt Cobain jag except only master volume and master tone, neck coil tap, and keeping the low cut switch) I'm 17 and I'm not very good with wiring, also jag wiring is especially confusing. Would anyone be able to help me figure out a wiring diagram for this, or at least help explain it to me? Are there any other mods I should try for this guitar?
  3. Hey there, peeps! My name is Matt and I'm aspiring to be a guitar luthier with my own repair/mod shop. And with a recent Yamaha EG-112C body going out of commission (I was gonna hard tail it permanently but it'd be too much work as of right now), I decided to start from scratch. With a Jazzmaster Body! I have a lot of things I need to decide and I decided to come to this forum with questions and polls galore to help me decide what I am doing. The neck is 12.75" so it's gonna be a Fender standard scale length. The neck pocket almost fits into a standard Tele neck pocket(but I only tried it in
  4. Tomorrow I'm seeing a guy who is selling a new 2015 Classic Player Jazzmaster, but the guy is asking for a very low price and I think he is kind of shady. I have my doubts about the guitar being a fake, has been somehow damaged or it's a stolen guitar. I would appreciate if you guys could help me a bit and tell me what should I look for to spot if it's real or fake and, since I'm kind of new to guitars, how could I tell if the neck is damaged or has any serious damage in any other parts. he sent me these pictures and told me the serial number was Mx15569216 Thanks a lot! and I
  5. Hey! I just recently got a new Squier Vintage Modified Mustang and its a great guitar, except for the bridge. It was awful (buzzes, strings popping out, etc.) so I decided to take the bridge off of my Modern Player Jaguar, which is a tuneomatic, and put in on my mustang considering both have the same neck radius. Well I took it off my Jag and made the posts bigger on the tuneomatic and dropped it in very easily. It is very sturdy and I dont see anything wrong, except for the action. The action is WAY too high off of the fret board. I will post pictures to see if anyone knows how I can fix th
  6. Hi guys! I recently discovered an awesome new series called: "Suits" But every time i hear there end credits theme song, i want to learn how to play it. Unfortunately i don't know how, i tried tabbing it myself, but i don't have many guitar playing experience, so i failed. This is the song, that i am trying to learn: I really hope you guys could help me out, even if it's just the first few notes, maybe i can try and finish it myself!
  7. I just bought this '65 mustang and it just seems like an odd beast. I know the original finish has been removed, but there were some other interesting things about it. The headstock matches the serial numbers of '65 mustang, but there is an odd stamp on the backside of the body right near the neck joint that says 3-26-1965. I find it strange that would be printed there after the varnish had been removed. I also know the tremolo bar is new. here is a link to photos: thanks!!
  8. Sup yo, I've been playin around with an idea for an alternate wiring for my Jag which would consist of completely getting rid of the circuit selection concept and replace it by having 2 tone and 2 volume pots just like a standard Les Paul wiring with the 2 rollers at the upper horn housing as the tones and the 2 normal pots at the bottom housing the 2 volumes. The main problem I can see with it is that I'd have to have really long wires attached to the capacitors between the volume and tone pots. Is that a problem at all? Would it work? I'm still pretty new to doing my own wiring so I'm re
