Hi. I am planning on modding my Surf Green Squire vintage modified jaguar to have 2 4 wire humbuckers, a three way toggle switch, and a coil tap on the neck pickup, however I want to keep the rhythm circuit and low cut switch. (basically similar to a Kurt Cobain jag except only master volume and master tone, neck coil tap, and keeping the low cut switch) I'm 17 and I'm not very good with wiring, also jag wiring is especially confusing. Would anyone be able to help me figure out a wiring diagram for this, or at least help explain it to me? Are there any other mods I should try for this guitar?
So, this is my project guitar. Bought last year's Made in Mexico Fender Special Edition HH Jazzmaster in Opal White. Somewhere's about $550 retail. These guitars ARE NOT anyhwere at the same quality as the MIM Classic Players, Road Worn or 60s Lacquer models. The wood is super light, and pickups were like, chrome painted, toy pickups. An absolutely gorgeous Jazzmaster that I deigned to make sound and play great. So far, I have added a Mastery Bridge, and just this week replaced the pickups with a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck (love that Jimmy Page tone) and a DiMarzio Super Distortion in
I'm soon getting a squier vintage moddified mustang and I'm planing on routing it for a humbucker in the bridge but how would I know exactly where to put it? So that it would be the right tone and aftermarket humbucker pickguards would fit it? Please help.
I've got some jazzmaster pickups on order to put in my CIJ jag. I wanted the jazz pickups with the short scale. Anyone who's done this who can give me any tips? Obviously I'm going to have to route out a bit for the wider pickups, but how deep should I go? Probably not as far down as the original route as the jazzer pickups aren't as deep as the jaguar. Also, any suggestions as to pickup placement? I don't know if the bridge location allows for the jazz bridge pickup to have its pole pieces positioned exactly where the jaguar's would be. Even if it were, perhaps it would sound better a
