James J 14
I think the Mustang might have been discontinued. Musician's Friend has it up on their site. Not unless this is just a miscommunication.
guitardude3000gt 0
Didn't they just bring it back this summer? That would be weird if it really is discontinued so soon.
James J 14
they brought it back last year, i order one about 2 months ago and got it, glad i ordered it when i did
mezzio13 0
A student guitar, still made like a student guitar and expensive for a student guitar. It was doomed from the get go. They should roll them out under the Squier nameplate and charge $199... oh wait, that'd be the Cyclone with an extra 3/4".
guitardude3000gt 0
I think they should just make it as part of either the Fender MIM standard series or deluxe series (like the cyclone). If it was part of the standard series then it should be a little cheaper than the standard strat/tele, and if it was part of the deluxe series it should be a little cheaper than the cyclone. I'd say if it was part of the deluxe series and just a little bit more than a standard strat, but still less than a cyclone, it would be perfect and it would sell much better. JJLipton 0
Hmm i think they keep reissuing and discontinuing them so quickly to create more demand for them.
Purplehaze19x 2
Well they did say "For a limited time only"
kurt_cobain1967.1994 0
I don't think it is, go to http://www.music123.com and look.
guitardude3000gt 0
I don't think it is, go to http://www.music123.com and look. When you search for fender mustang on there, the title that comes up for it says "Fender Mustang Closeout" and then when you click on it it says "Sorry, the item you are searching for is not currently available online." Holy crap your right hmm a few days ago it wasn't doing this, i think it just might be discontinued.
kurt_cobain1967.1994 0
But on Fender.com it says nothing about it in the News or anywhere.
guitardude3000gt 0
It'll still be on Fender's site til next summer's NAMM, cause they never update their damn site. And they usually don't make an announcement in their news when something is discontinued.
kurt_cobain1967.1994 0
Well, you convinced me it's discontinued

PenPen 0
The Japanese Mustangs haven't been discontinued, right? Between this thread and the other one about antigua I'm confused as all hell. Are Japanese Mustangs in normal colors still going to be available or what?
guitardude3000gt 0
You won't be able to get one in America anymore, you can still pay the $100 to have one shipped to you from japan though.
PenPen 0
No different than before. They never made lefties in America anyway, Japan was my only option before. I just wanted to know if I needed to take out the loan to swipe a lefty Stang from Japan NOW, or if I could continue to wait until I have the extra cash. I hate taking out loans.
