Pics of your Jag-Stangs

Recommended Posts

Warmoth Jagstang? You can see the wood grains right thru the finish, ash or alder?

Bingo. Warmoth, indeed, and it's alder.

I wanted the grain and everything to peek through so I never sealed or sanded the body. I just wanted a player's guitar, something that I could beat on.

Lol now its on ebay for sale.

I spotted that from the pickguard straight away, did you?

That looks really good!

I'm gettin a witch hat for mine. 8)

It's been quite a while since I've seen your JS (I dun even remember what color it is), hang on a sec while I look it up, so I can picture it in my head.

EDIT: Ya witch hats would look pretty sick on your guitar..... but then again, when don't they look sick?

Nah, the wood grain thru the finish & contour are a dead give away. Plus Warmoth Jagstang shape is off just a tad bit (licensing issuses).

I haven't checked out Warmoth pickguard selection in at least 9 years, I saw them once, that was all I needed to see

I think it sold for $275 (plus $40 shipping)... I'd of given $300 shipped, put the neck on my Jaguar and sold the rest peice by peice to make back my money. I just spent $250 on a bandsaw yesterday, so I'd be living in the dog house if I bought that.

Quite right. Certainly could have fetched more (especially if I'd parted it out) but I wanted a quick sale to buy something different. As soon as the buyer pays for the Jag-Stang, I'm buying a "metal" guitar. :o:lol:

:o

Maybe. I wanted your Jag-Stang but it's probably a good thing that I didn't snag it. It would have been for sale a week later.

I'm snagging a Schecter and hoping that I'll be willing to ditch the shortscale for the 25.5".

Some new changes to my main......

New Tuners - Tone Pros Kluson - like a cross between what I had before the Gotoh's, and the Gotoh's themselves, the best of both worlds. And it's nice to no longer prick myself on the headstock anymore if I'm not careful....good thing as I've fallen asleep writing songs a LOT lately. I also bought a set of these for the Jazzmaster, as I have a 22 fret black blocks all maple CBS style neck coming in for it (and a repro 70's decal).

Also changed the vibrato to a threaded strat bar, as the hole that holds the bar on is just too worn out. Uses a standard foreign thread Strat bar as found on Squier strats. I quite like this arrangement, it's very tight, I can make this thing flutter and scream like Brad Gillis's floyded Strat, and I don't even need an Allen key to tune it, plus I've got a 5th upward travel like Vai's JEM and even some small (but amazing) Steinberger Trans Trem like abilities on the lower two strings (3 steps worth of in-tune variable pitch on the E, and A, and some highly useable intervals on the other strings). There's the reason I prefer the Fender Dynamic over anything else for standard hard rock trem use.

I think that's enough pr0nz for now.

I replaced the pickguard on my JS with a black one and I put Strat knobs (one of which was aged by a friend and the other one was set on fire by my step dad) on her. Check it out:

The pickguard on it before has bugged me since the day I got it, because the person who had it before me left a ton of red scrape marks from his pick in the corner of it, and even though most people didn't notice it, it drove me crazy. and since I was getting a new pg, I figured I'd add my own personal touch to it and go with something besides the stock design.
