Teisco

Recommended Posts

Just make sure the neck is not warped, and that the electronic is not damaged (water damaged, etc..).

Other than that, i agree that they're some nice looking guitars... I like the old Hagstrom too and the old Epiphone Willshire.

If I ever put my hands on a lefty model from one of these brands...

Awesome! :) I can read your stuff now without fear of mental spasms. :D

My only experience with Teisco guitars is the one pickup I have in my Jazzmaster. It is similar to a Top 20's pickup. I have it going through 1meg pots and it is still pretty warm. Sounds good with The Cure style effects. I don't like that ones sound clean, but I tend to like bright treble jangle. :)

I was working on getting a teisco guitar body to build off of but now im thinkin I want to cut out my own guitar... vox phantom or maybe hi flyer.. how would you recomend cutting you own body?

I would get a template. You trace the template to get the bridge placement and neck hole placement. (routs also) After you trace the template on the body blank, you can change the outer shape to a different look but still know your bridge and neck measurements will be good from your template. :) You could check out Paul's tempates here. Go for one close to what you want and make a modified template based off of his.
