Cobain's 'Skystang I' Fender Mustang To Be Auctioned

The Kurt Cobain MG-69 (Made in Japan) Fender Mustang, known as Skystang I and regularly used on the In Utero tour, will be going up for auction in November 2023.

The guitar is played on almost every song during MTV’s Live and Loud show which took place at Seattle Pier 48 on December 13, 1993.

The guitar will be part of a Julien's Auctions event titled ‘PLAYED, WORN, & TORN: ROCK ‘N’ ROLL ICONIC GUITARS AND MEMORABILIA’ from 11/17/2023 - 11/18/2023. Julien's estimates the guitar to sell for $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 but previous auctions of Cobains guitars have gone well beyond the estimates.
