What strings are the best for a Jag-Stang?

The strings I have on now sound like crap. Everytime I play, theres that damn "low E buzz". Heavier strings will get rid of that, right? Can someone suggest a brand and size? I was thinking .010's. Thanks.

god damn..I played a yamaha pacifica 112 for 8 years before i got a new guitar..but now i got a jag and a JS too..woo, great guitars!

Your hands must be ridiculously sweaty when you play. I use D'Addarios 11's on both my Mustang and Bronco. I haven't changed the strings in about a month and I practice about 7 - 10 hours everday. My strings still aren't rust, but a little dirty.

I pay for them myself. I used to help out at a pet store when I lived in Michigan for, I think, was less than minimum wage. I've been saving every penny I made since September 2005. I'm now working as a bagger at a grocery store, but when I turn 16 (May 9th by the way), I can get a cashier job or something. The guitars are worth every penny. I'm not copying Kurt or anything. It's just, I like those guitars. Everyone has a Strat, Tele, or Les Paul. There's nothing wrong with those guitars, but I like different things. And I like the sounds they produce (which is most important). Sorry to go on, but uh, yeah.

Also, I've used a Peavey Raptor (which isn't that bad of a guitar) since I was like 13 years old. I think its about time I got some real guitars 😁 /

TRUTH: There are only 3 manufacturers of guitar strings in the world. So, the brand name is really quite irrelevant.

*despite the fact that I'm most comfortable with the D'Addarios.*

I like the 'Beefy Slinky's' (11-54) on my Jag, but I've always used heavier strings on my Tele anyway. It's all a matter of taste really, I do like d'addarios though because they have coloured ball ends, and rotosounds come with an extra 1st string.

i gotta try slinkies one day, i never played them, right now im using daddarios and they're not VERY confotable but still nice...

do 10s snap like ####? i wanna move down but i break strings very easily

I like Ernie Ball Strings. They're very comfortable. I've been using the Super Slinky ones, but they aren't working out. I'll try the beefy slinkys, but if those don't work, than what else should I try?

I've got Ernie Balls on mine, but they're twelves. Nice quality strings.

dont try beefy slinkies (11-54), theyre tooo big! you're probably end up with sore fongers and/or a snapped nut (yup, i broke the but on my Fender Duo Sonic but putting too thick strings on and playing too hard)

Try Earny Ball Power Slinkys (11-48 ) first, theyre perfect on my jag-master, and im about to try em on my jag-stang!

nope, its still broken - its one of the weird 22" scale Mexican Duo-Sonics, so it would need a new custom-cut nut made.

I havent got the time or cash to get it fixed, so i just play it without a bottom E string! sucks to play anything involving powerchords ☹

and wow @ you playing since you were 13 - wish i'd started so young.

Funnily enough my 10 year old niece is really into Avril Lavigne, so yesterday i taught her to play her first powerchord! I was so proud 😆

I just say, experiment around till you find what you like........that's what I did.

I use Fender XL 250's in 009-042 gauge (or 009-040 when I can get em).
