What strings are the best for a Jag-Stang?

The "grunge" choice = Dean Markley 10-52s are pretty usable, IMO. (grunge... I think Kurt said in some interview back then he used Dean Markley strings?)

Dean Markley string are pretty cheap compared to other labels, at least not the most expensive anyway. Of course BlueSteels are more expensive, but I don't mean those here, just basic DMs. They don't break so often as a few other brands I tried few years ago.

i find it's best to work the strings into the grooves, like a little hack saw. if you don't have nut files, you can use the roundwound string itself

That's exactly what I've done, and 11-54's don't hurt.

Btw, heavier strings have a higher tension when tuned in the same tuning as lighter ones, right? How much can a Jag-Stang/guitar in general take this tension?

If I'd put something like 13-62 strings on my JS, would it crack from some place? Or is there a risk that the neck gets curved etc? What can cause a curved neck? Of course misadjusting the truss rod can break it.

Just wondering...

actualy,he used GHS .10-.52.

what do you guys think of the EHX strings?EHX claim in their catalogue that their strings are the best sounding strings ever made 😆

Doesn't every string manufacturer 😛 ? Well I've always been really impressed with EHX pedals (thought he new Nano and XO line seem to be a little off the boil) so I guess their strings won't be bad.

pre-slotted enter perfect on jag-stang , using nice glue its never go off

you can put any strings on without having to worry about anything like that. the neck is actually meant to give way a bit, that's how truss rods work

Hmm.. What is the reason then why guitar necks might get curved? Just bad materials or..?

if it gets curved, you adjust the truss rod to bring it back. the neck is supposed to bend. it bends because wood does bend

Oops. Sorry, my bad.. I must have used the wrong word there. 😡

Curved seems to mean the normal bending the neck does.. I meant what could get a guitar neck twisted? See: http://fretnotguitarrepair.com/neckrepair2.htm

It's always been a bit mystery for me what malforms the neck of a guitar. Dipping the guitar in water/other liquid maybe? 😆 Of course bad handling, like dropping or throwing around the guitar might do something, but then the paint job & finish will probably take the biggest damage. Or does it?
