Glad you're getting it fixed instead of replaced.
I work at this guitar repair shop doing the bull#### work like changing pickups, setting things up, cleaning guitars etc. This guy Lukas I work with fixed a old, beat-up Les Paul with a neck broken into three pieces. He liked his work and the guitar so much he bought it off the guy. Don't let that happen to you.
I only like Gibson Marauders and Gibson Explorers for the most part. I got over my bitter hatred of Les Pauls a while back, when I caved in finally and traded a vintage Tele for a new LP Custom ('twas a fair deal given I stole the Tele from a roommate who was slowly robbing me blind). I think Les Pauls are pretty nifty but a grand or multiple grands for what I see to be a pretty bland guitar for the cash is something I'd never spend. Usually never record without one though.
