I'm with robert on this one, as I was also in a Metal band with the Jag-Stang, and probably the only metal guy to use the tremelo bar like most metal players use a Floyd Rose as far as I know (Fender Dynamic Trem kicks a FLoyds ass).
The idea of a "genre guitar" to me is bull####. You're the player, the guitar is just an open canvas.
The bottom line is, guitars are not limited to a genre. The people perpetuating that myth are more worried about "looking the part" more than sounding good I've found. Sure the Jag-Stang was made by Kurt Cobain, but even Kurt himself did not consider himself limited to "this thing called grunge" according to a few interviews I've seen/read.
As for me, I use that guitar for whatever it sounds best to me on, and if I were to list the genres, it would take me all day. I've covered just about everything from power ballads to Van-Halen to Nirvana to Metallica, to even Slayer or Buckethead on that thing, as well as written a lot of originals ranging from Ethernial Experimental stuff where the guitar almost sounds like a synthesizer, to really dark fast metal that I can't quite figure out how to label.
