gaaaah serious trem problem!!!!!!!!!

it is so anoying!

nothing about it is wrong, but the thing were the trem arm goes in falls loose all the time!

its now annoying me like hell, i had to detune and open up the trem more than 5 times.

it just falls off and then i thighten it really hard and its still loose.

any ideas of fixing this, or did i just loose some srew or what?

you need a lil washer inbetween the threads, not a plain washer but something with some bite.

yeah there is one washer on the bottom.

if it is and you have the washer in place then i would say super glue the bastard, its on the inside so who is going to notice.

i know i thought about superglueing.

it has the washer and everything, now it kind of stopped but i dont know whats gonna happen.

if it happens again, the bastards gonna suck glue

it happened again.

it has one of those washers that go between a pot and a pickguard (only this one is bigger, and it has some spikes on it.

on here, this one has no washer

should i take off the other washer?

when i first opened it to set the trem lock i also noticed anothe, spikeyer washer and it was bigger. i think i lost it because clearly the other one isnt the right washer

the spike washer is what you need in there, im not sure why it isn;t working. maybe a new one is in order, perhaps trhe spikes are not pointy in the right direction.

the spikes, if i remeber correctly should be pointing toward the plate. and i swear to god if that doesn;t work, just tac weld it in.

It's like a really small weld, people usually use them to hold stuff together to see if it's right before they properly weld it up.

I dont know how to take mine off, but I dont want to put it back in its case because it pushes down on it. . . do I just need to pull on it? unscrew it? its a 67' sunburst, er, if that helps at all

I dont want to hurt my guitar by randomly pulling on things, haha.

Forget glue, just put the trem back together.

This is what you need to do to stop it from falling out. Stand back I will say this only once.

PUSH THE ARM IN REALLY REALLY #### HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In fact you have to push it in so hard it feels unnatural & you might think your going to break the guitar,You always have to do this on Jags/Jazzmasters.

You can make putting the arm in and out a little easier by taking off the tailpiece and ever-so slightly bending the little "gripping claw" out a little.

My suggestion would be to take the tailpiece off anyways, and see if the arm IS actually going in there or not. It's possible you're either not pushing it in hard enough for it to lock into place, or that the gripping claw thing I mentioned is kinda bent out a bit and is not doing it's job.

Seriously, as many people have said, you gotta push down on the arm HARD to make it clip into place. It's not a screw thread like on Strat trems.

You won't break it by pushing down, it's all sprung.

no no no, not the trem arm! its all in the first post.

i meant the thing that holds the trem arm, that hole and there is a screw down there, inside of it and thats the problem, not the trem arm...

Oh, sorry dude. I had the same problem when I tightened up the grip claw, the friction would make the little collar thing work it's way loose. Just try bending the claw out a little bit so the trem arm swings easier, and tighten it up as tight as you can with some pliers.

I did that fix in October and have had no problem since.
