Thing on the bottom right- basically the bottom of section you're having trouble with, I don't know the proper term for it. The 4 little sections "lock in" with the small groove on the tremolo arm- too tight and it can work loose.

i took that off. and now i picked it up and played it, the trem didnt for now, dont know how to explain it, but i made a video

here, its kinda messed up it goes up and down. something is loose , either the thing that holds the trem arm or the system i dont know.

theres some more stuff as well: is the neck bow off a bit? is the weird cracking noise when its pushed down normal? how can i fix that noise, should i oil the spring or something... i dont know

Gargh that sounds nasty, could you take the tailpiece off and post some pictures of the inside of it on here? If we get pics we could all offer help 😀

edit: took it off now, the thing seems steady.

but, i think that that sound made by the tremolo might be because it was too tight?

i dont think you can see it in here. i dont know. the sound is probably cause the spring was too tight

My trem spring is tightened up pretty tight and I don't have a problem. All I can recommend without having it in my hand is..

-Make sure the tremlock is pushed towards the neck

-Pull the actual tailpiece part UP when stringing and tuning the guitar back up (sometimes it can get stuck in the wrong position)

-Put the washer back on the trem arm collar thing, and tighten the hexagonal nut up with a socket wrench/pliers as hard as you psychically can.

If the trem arm isn't swingly freely, those 4 little tab bits need a very slight bending out. Try and make it so the they're all evenly bend out, if you get me.

thanks for the help, but i already tightened it million times with the washer and it fell in. ahh, im just going to close it soon

ajust the neck,

take a straight edge and make sure its really bowed.

if its an up bow, then turn it 1/4 turns clockwise,

if its the other, then turn it counterclose wise.

do it until it is straight.

i know i know, i was just asking cause it looked like it kinda had a bow. but it doesnt matter, its pretty normal.

i took off the glue and everything and put it back the normal way, works now.

but the #### spring is annoying me so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its so ####, i might get a new trem. just because of the damn spring.

if it bothers you that much , i have an allparts trem that i used to have on a my tele, i know for a fact its silent.

i think i paid around 40 or so for it, so a trade perhaps?

hey what would be a reasonable price for a '65 trem tailpiece without mounting screws?

there's a webpage that an irishman once did, and he put this rubber ring round the bottom of his collet. it's very annoying, because i can't find the page. but it did go into great detail with lots of pics of how to do it. strangely, it was an american trem that he had. i couldn't understand why he wanted to do the mod on the US trem. some people don't understand that it clicks in. but it would be great for a japanese one like yours

oh sorry, i didn't read the thread properly. you've obviously stripped the thread. you'd have to buy a new lever. which is the unit that the strings go through. so yeah, mayaswell buy a new trem unit
