Replacing Hums in jag

Thinking about throwing some new pups in my jag which has been reworked for hums, taking all suggestions, i was thinking about going the standard route, but they'res always the option of other stuff that you wouldn't think about (EMGs :])

I'm pretty sure that says Mustang on the headstock(?) Anyway, you should look in the mirror, and then slap yourself, repeatedly, for re-routing a Jaguar for humbuckers when you should have bought a HH version or just thought about getting a boring guitar in the first place.

I once sketched out a dream guitar of mine--a Jazz, w/Jag control plates & a pair of 'Trons...maybe someday I'll be able to build it...seems to be no shortage of kids smashing up &/or attempting to customise their Jags & Jazz's...the parts will be around...

I have 20/20 vision, and a 19" LCD monitor...that prolly had something to do with it... 😆

you could just go ahead and route it a little bit more and use jazzmaster pickups. so you can have the sound the guitar was intended for(sortof) if you want emgs, buy a epi less paul and put them in there.....or a prs....

I actually think that would be kind of interesting. A jag with creme colored emgs would look cool.

yeah. it's not my taste, but if it's his then fair enough. the point i'm trying to make is that a guiatr is a guitar. jags were made to cash in on the surfy thing. a tiny proportion of people who play them now have them for that reason. now people buy them cos they look cool and/or cos kurt and lots of other "alternative" guitarists use(d) them. some people also buy them for their sound. i hate the way that anytime anyone wants to put hums in their jag loads of people say "buy a les paul" cos the fact a les paul has hums is irrelevant.

i just really dont see the point of spening big bucks on a guitar you wont like the sound of.if he bought it pre routed with buckers mroe power to him for emgs. but if you do go emgs, id go creme, although i just dont like to see people spend big bucks on a guitar to drop money on it to get it to sound like something that can be bought stock, a jag hh, see all the nice jag stylings(minus the tremelo) and all the modern things buckers and such. you could easil(well easier) have bought that and put emgs in it it would have saved you money(well from what an average jag goes for atleast) just my opinon routing for buckers and stuff is kinda not really my thing, well i dont like 'buckers in the first place so im biased. well, its your guitar do what you like with it.
