so, im planning on buying another guitar and was wondering how the jag-stangs where. ive never played one or heard it. so i was wondering if i could get your opinions. i love the look, i think im going to get a sonic blue one. so any advice is apprciated. thanks

love/hate relationship

some of the older members on here (including me) have gone back to it after letting it sit in its case for years. mine is excelent. it stays in tune with no mods to the bridge assembly. alot of guys cant get along with it, and im sure they will let you know.

its one of my favorites. just about the best neck you are going to find on any guitar period. even the guys that cant get along with it going out of tune will agree with me that the neck is the best.

im sure i can get along with the tuning problem maybe a TOM or something will fix it. nice guitars rob. are those different pickups it in, by the angle of the picture its hard to tell

cant recall if i liked the sounds of my js before installing a jb and a hotrails but since i replaced the stock pickups i didnt like it.blablablablaba anyway i prefer my js over every other guitar i have because of its neck . It SO comfortable to play with . Havent found a single guitar that compares to it(only the 60-70s jaguars that if i am right have the same neck?).

i d suggest putting 12's on.Thats what i ve done with my jagstang and the tremolo is locked down for good. Never had a tuning problem.

Definately go with 11-52 string size, as far as the tuning issues...

I have one with a TOM and it stays in perfect tune,

I have a Standard Fiesta Red JS stock bridge and it stays in perfect tune as well. So basically, in my tuning experience with these, if you just spend some time tuning the JS after fresh strings and stretch them and tune them and play it some and then tune again, you should be good to go, as I've had no problems with the above proceedure.

And as Robroe says, you will either love it or hate it, I personally love mine. 😁

i took my jag-stang's guts and neck and bridge and put them in a mustang body.

and then i put new pickups in the mustang/jag-stang.

thats about what i think of a jag-stang.

it's got a great neck 😲

the single coil from my jag stang is the neck of my duosonic.

its much fuller than the standard squier one and povides a good mix when bother are going together AND they still hum cancel when the toggle is in the middle.

if you can afford a custom one go for it.. cowbell style. His JS rocks.

it's a much better guitar than a lot of people say. as said above the neck is great. the tuning problems are solely due to the mustang trem, which i think is a bit of a dodgy design. mine stays in tune if i don't touch the trem, but the trem puts it out. it has got more stable with time though. as for the sound. the neck single sounds pretty good. i like the bridge hum. a lot of people who get jagstangs don't. this is because it is a low output hum and so doesn't get "kurt's sound". so if you aren't expecting it to make you sound like nirvana as soon as you plug it in then you may like it. also, a lot of people don't get on with the switches and say they get in the way when they strum. this may or may not be a problem for you.

yeah i had the switch problem on my mustang, but i just put duct tape over it and that solved it. so thats not really worrying me. ive got my eye on one on ebay so ill see how it goes

but if you used to hit them and change settings then surely that means that by taping over them they still get in the way and you hit them rather than the strings. rather than taping over them you ought to practice strumming differently.
