Cross, is it difficult to get a finish looking good with metallic paint, rather than solid? Reranch make it seem difficult. I'd just be using car paint like you.

I'm using auto acrylic, which isn't my desired choice. Reranch use nitro or polyuerthane, and I imagine metallic colours would be harder to apply.

the metallic red I used sprayed on really well. the glittering is quite subtle, but when I spray clear coat over it, it will enhance it.

can someone send me measurements for comp stripes?

surely you know *someone* who paints cars...there's a trick to painting metallic paint...left - right - diagonal left - diagonal right...

robroe: I'm not using those pickups, I'm currently considering 2 options

- Quater Pounder in Neck, DiMarzio Evolution in Bridge

- Blue Lace Sensor in Neck, Dually Red Lace in Bridge.

Shadow: I'm not eating Chinese, I'm having Subway. You better be careful though, I mite go Jagon on your arse and get Chili sauce in your eyes.

The color I was aiming for is CAR, but I saw some really nice guitars that had a metallic sparkle, so this so far looks awesome!! Now it just needs those comp stripes and the clear finish and beautiful.

Lace Sensors AREN'T Active. They are sometimes found connected to an Active Boost Circuit.

Just an update, I've settled on what pickups I want:

DiMarzio HS-2 in neck

DiMarzio Super Distortion in bridge

From what I've read, this will give me nice vintagey strat tones on neck, but nice distortion with plenty of harmonics on bridge.

As for the body, Cross has told me it is finished, he will post photos soon. The neck is also on its way, he said he should get the wood this week (flame maple and rosewood 😁 ).

That is THE BEST jag-stang ive ever seen, i want one making. If you or Cross dont mind me asking , how much is it gonna be when finished? I wanna get some price ideas of what cross charges.

Mumbly I don't recall us mentioning flame maple? I ordered normal rock hard maple, is this a problem? Flame costs twice as much, almost.

Wow man, that is awesome. Amazing work. Don't worry about reordering the wood man, rock maple will do. If flame is really double the cost then I can't afford it. Anyway if what you have done with the body is an indication of what you can do with the neck, I still will be impressed 😉
