Ashworth, that's its name. Apparently there was one called Park Lane, but they merged some time in the 70s. The train from here (Ormskirk) into Liverpool city centre goes right past it.

wasn't the 80s Brady was loose though, the 60s, now that I've looked it up. Should have known that.

Fran-Your so right. They were just kids (at the time,16-19) that walked around acting well hard, because there was more than 10 of them. Probably pissed on "White Lightning" no less! First time I got pissed was on that sh*te!

I used to get easily intimidated because I was quite a quiet kid, with no self-esteem.

I knew a lot of kids that were "respected" in school for being hard (they had an older brother) that became nobodies when school was done.

Yeah, Broadmoor is/was a place for the criminally insane.

For the people of Sandhurst, College Town, etc. it was always scary because sometimes the alarm would go off because a prisoner had escaped or couldn't be found. It was usually just a couple of hours before everything was safe. Otherwise the normal test alarm used to go off at 10am every Monday. You could hear that alarm no matter where you were in town.

I had my "work experience" at an old age home. Its still not funny! 😲

I don't know how old the photos are though, i found my dad's house and his subaru was parked outside, he had it stolen about three years ago or something (yeah, still sh*t with times).

Yeah, i did a bit of research on old Victorian mental asylums some time back. One thing led to another with morbid fascination and i read old storys from nurses, patients..

The architecture of those places was amazing but god did they look unforbidding frightening places. There was one on flicker images, i think it was Denby in Wales. The place was empty and someone had broken entry to take pictures, some of the stuff in there was weird, odd rooms with doorways halfway up the wall, paintings by patients of stuff you dont really talk about, barbaric looking dental tools. Well weird.

Agreed. I really dont have a fear of anything, well except parrots, if you can believe that.

But I would find it very frightening to be locked in one of those places alone at night!

I'm not joking, that would be a sure fire way to kill me!

I was, I got so far into it and then the guy's who organised the classes stopped 'cause there was only me and like 2 other guys going. So it's been a few years since I practised any of it but I still remember most of it. It has come in handy a number of times, I have to say. And yeah, I've never actually decided to use it just to whale on someone, that sh*t's not cool.

Yes we do, a few actually, but they're all sh*t. The most popular is one called Most Haunted, with some woman on it who used to present Blue Peter. Basically they just walk around the house/ mansion/ castle at night (why at night? Like ghosts would care?), and jump out of their skins whenever one of them bumps into another or something gets knocked over. It's pretty tame stuff.

I got really annoyed watching one episode of it 'cause they kept talking about paganism, and saying "oh yes, there was definitely devil-worship going on in this place", and I'm thinking, you dumb bunch of c*nts, Paganism and devil-worship aren't the same thing at all. That's Satanism. Paganism is earth-worship. I figure if they're getting stuff like that wrong, what else is overlooked in the authenticity of the program? Not worth watching.

That sucks. Well as you have quite a bit of experience already, you should just buy a video or book that could teach you some more. What I mean is, there are other ways to continue. I've seen this video of a school fight. This white kid that studied Karate against a gangster in training, Its funny!

I used to believe in ghosts, but since my Grandparents died, I don't.

Its hard for me to explain, but based on my relationship with them and what kind of people they were, if they could have, they would have appeared here on earth. F*ck! that sounds insane!

It not something I can put into words. But I have enjoyed those "Celebrity Ghost hunter" shows.
