Where could i find a jaguar wiring diagram? lso im using it for my jag HH are the HH's set up the same as the original? please do tell..

And also what would happen if i had a bridge pickup with pretty high output and a neck pickup with relativley low output ie. (sd jb and mij dragster) would the volume on the bridge just be higher?

yes, and together it might sound unbalanced

You could raise the height of the neck pup and lower the bridge pup to balance it better. But to be honest i think unless you fit something ridiculous like an active EMG i dont think the difference will be that noticeable.

Ok and the new bridge pickup is off some weird guitar i got from my cousin no s/n the headstock just said Gremlin. But after searching the interw3bs the pickup is said to be hot and compared to a sd jb

Okay, yesterday i got my new pickguard from chandlers

so i was going to swap the pickups while i had the old pg off, and i need help

my jags stock pickups have one grey wire that splits to a black and white at the end but the

new pickups have 3 wires at the end

the old pickups were connected to two spots(obviously) and i have an extra wire just sitting there un soldered if you want me to draw up a diagram or somthing i will i just wanna know where the extra wire gets soldered

ok so i got the pickup in and it works good and all but now my A string is messed up i dont know how to describe it all my other strings ring and the a sounds like its being touched and not vibrating alot like a bad palm mute or somthing any ideas on what i should mess with to fix this (its like one problems solved another ones created 🙄 )

Hmmm, you have checked that the string is seated properly in the saddle and nut haven't you?

It may sound obvious but you'd be surprised at the schoolboy mistakes you can make while concentrating on something else. You always check the stupid things first.

If it's seated correctly, check your pickup height (since you just installed new ones), and then check to see if you've placed the a string in the tailpiece correctly, as in loosen it off push it slightly out, and then back in and tune.

Take a look at those and come back with your findings.

You just said you "got it" but you didn't say what you did. Did you end up connecting the wire to the back of the volume pot?

I have a seymour duncan "hot rails", and I can't figure out how to connect the wires correctly.

The black wire and the bare wire are grounded (I connected both to the metal plate in tha cavity--in the corner where the stock pickup was soldered). Now I have a blank terminal in the middle of the switch where the stock pickup's white wire was. Which color wire goes there? I tried every combo of wires in this spot, but none worked (there is no sound unless I touch the the magnets on the pickup, in which case it just hums or hums and picks up the vibrating string).

After I conect whatever wire goes to the middle node of the switch, where do the other 3 wires go? I now assume that at least one is soldered to the back, metal part of one of the pickup volume pots, is this true? Which wire and which pot?

did you look one the pick ups instructions to see what wires are what. I think SD's have white and red connected and black and green, and bare is something

Well, the manual shows how to install the pickups in a strat, and I can't translate it into a jaguar at all.

It says to prevent the pickups from being out of phase, "solder the black wire to ground and the green wire to the selector switch".

First of all, where do I ground the black wire in the jaguar? It shows the strat with grounds on the back of the volume controls, but the jaguar had the stock pickup grounded to the metal plate at the bottom of the cavity.

It also shows the red and white wires being connected to the4 same terminal on the "5-way super-switch".

But it doesn't show the bare wire in the diagrams, so I don't know what to do with it. I have been connecting it to ground as well, along with the black wire.

Every combination of connections I do, there is no sound coming out of the guitar except for a hum when I touch the pickup's magnets or the metal on the selector switch.
