Thanks again Franz. I got it to work, but the volume is very low, and I don't think the bridge pickup works anymore.
I soldered the pickup to the metal cavity underneath the black padding. This solved the humming problem when I touched the pickup.
Then I had another hum when I touched the pickup volume knobs. So I thought maybe grounding them wold work as well, which it did.
Now the pickup works and there is no hum, but the stock bridge pickup no loner works. Id it possible I wired the neck pickup in a way that disabled the bridge pickup or do you think I just disconnected a wire accidentally?
And the main volume knob no longer works, either. I'm sure the one next to it doesn't either, but I can't tell. I also can't tell if the tone switches work.
The volume of the guitar is also fairly I think, but do you think this has to do with the fact that only one pickup is working and nothing else?
Also, there is a significant space between the pickguard and pickup now, I guess because I removed the black padding underneath it. But if I didn't, I wouldn't have fit it in. Should I fill the gap with something or leave it?
