im not sure about the wood on the re-issues, i doubt it is ash, fender almost never uses ash.
there should also be copper shielding in the cavities, like the originals.
they are of a much higher build quility than the 69 re-issues.
my gf owned one for a few months and i got to play a 65 re-isssue a few months back, big difference all around.
