I wouldn't recommend it. The more windings you have, the more windings have to tighten up and settle on the tuning post, meaning the string is gonna be a pain in the arse to stretch in. 3 or 4 is fine.
The only benefit from winding that way I can see would be the slight increase in the downward angle the string has coming off the nut, since the string will wind to the bottom of the tuning post. The barely noticable increase in sustain isn't really worth it though.
