pickup got here today. did a make-shift pop in (didnt solder anything, wires coming out of the guitar, etc.) so i wouldnt have to take off strings. it sounds MUCH better than the old pickup, but thats not saying much. it is much to bright and airy to be played with the tone knob on 10, even when compared to the humbucker from hell in the neck. it sounds best with the tone rolled down significantly, which obviously results in a loss of volume. even without adjusting the tone, the 12k pickup in the bridge is weaker than the 5.8k pickup in the neck. weird huh? but for the money very good. i think ill send it to smit's parts, and have it rewound to something much hotter, like 18k or something, but have one of the coils very cool (like 6.8k) for splitting.
