Mustang/Duo Sonic - custom project

I've almost finished the Mustang duo sonic project, i've been working on and off on for a while.

I made the body from scratch out of 2-piece basswood.

It's really light and has amazing sustain.

The colour can be best described as Dakota Red, but it's a lot darker. It's actually leftover auto paint that my dad used to respray his Car, which is a Jaguar/daimler.

I will eventually replace the pickguard with a red tort guard.

All I'm waiting on now is the white mustang pickups.

The neck on it at the moment is a squire jagmaster, vista series, perfect neck, but I want to eventually make my own (if I have time).

My camera must be crap, it's only 2 mega pixels.

I have the guitar strung up at the moment and it lines up perfectly.

I think Slab (non-contoured) is highly underrated. Also, I wanted to keep it the same as a musicmaster or duo sonic. In my case the body is the exact same thickness as a stratocaster and jagstang, about 4.2cm i believe.

I never used to like red before, until i painted Mumbly joe's, now it's completely grown on me. My ideal would still be sonic blue.

im convinced the jag-stang neck feels as good as it does because the body of the thing is thick as a semi truck tire. 40% of it is all paint haha

The duo-sonic is finished. The black pickguard is growing on me, what do you think?. I might still get a red tortoishell one.

Oh, don't ask me how it sounds, I haven't wired it yet.
