Actually the reason I said people were pinching the knobs was because one poster said he saw the guitar at the HoF and it had knobs, then another poster said they went to see it and it was behind glass and had no knobs.
I was implying that it was put behing glass because people were stealing things from it, which would make sense if one week it has knobs, and the following week, no knobs.
edit: and yes, not very bright to drill holes an a guitar given to you by the widow of a dead rock superstar whose legend was already becoming myth. Anyone with an IQ above 50 would have insured it, stored it in a humidifier, and put it up for auction on the 20th anniversary of Cobain's death.
