terrible price its so damn high almost 1000 dollars you could buy a US Vintage at that price!! My advice buy a kick ass amp for that price. 😈

Sadly things are a bit limited here in Oz.

I had a hell of a time finding a Jagmaster, and that is gonna cost me $459 (plues setup, plus I will probably have to swap out the pup selector).

A brand new Jaguar at my local music store is $1,800. Dunno where it was made. I mite take a look tomorrow...

i bought my 65 reissue for 700 brand new...almost 1000 is way too high..did you pay 459 bucks for a jagmaster?

No, but I will be soon enough.

Maybe the prices in Australia are just way inflated. Importing costs, shipping, demand, plus we have a GST.

Your average Squier Affinity Strat goes for about $350. A Bullet goes for $170.

edit: to do some price comparison... how much for a Big Mac in the States? Down here they are $3.45.

yeah, just the sandwich on it's own. $3.45.

$350 new for a Jagmaster seems to work out okay once we add our GST (which is 10%), plus import costs and tariffs (we have a free trade agreement with China but not with the USA).

The cheapest genuine Fenders I have seen are all over $1,000, with top of the line Tele's going for over $3,500.

Nah, I dont think thats a good deal. A month ago I got a 69 RI MIJ Mustang off ebay for US$535. Shipping from Tokyo to Perth in Western Australia was US$95 (3days!!). Just have some patience, one will pop up with your name on it!

PS - I'm in the process off doing the customary modding (routing for bucker, TOM bridge etc.). Keep you eyes peeled for the thread.

I'm not actually in the market for a Mustang, but I know I will be before this time next year, so I'm just getting a feel for how much I will need to save.

I'm a patient guy, but if I really want something, my patience starts to wane a bit 😀

Is this good of a find common? I haven't been looking very long.

Its fairly common to find Re-issue mustang in the 500-700 dollar range on ebay all the time, check the US Ebay most sellers ship worldwide and the prices are reasonable, I found that just buying putting in Fender Mustang and looking down the page 😆

nevermind..it was 250..for some reason i thought it was 350

Like I said, I paid US$95 for shipping, but after I recieved the guitar DHL (shipping company) billed me AU$50 for a quarantine inspection fee. Thats it.

In Australia, I think you only have to pay import duty on incoming goods that are over AU$1000, I was lucky as the seller put 'used guitar worth $100' (without telling me) on the customs declaration.
