Nope, it was running through the tip of hte screw (the end opposite the head), on the reissue Mustang and All Jag-Stang bridges, the screws are longer than the vintage variety, and on the bass and treble sides of the bridge, stick up a little more than usual, it affects the low E more as the string is thicker. The problem really stemms from when the rocker bridge is thrown "off-center", and ends up leaning back towards the tailpiece, the screw is angled upward, and then presses against the string giving it a buzz. The reason it rarely ever affects the high E is A.) The saddle is more towards the neck, so the screw is angled upward less, and B.) the string is thinner and makes the string harder to reach due to it's smaller diameter.
