You should learn to appreciate how Kurt used electrical tape to stop all sorts of parts of the guitar moving.

get the strings off, take out the bridge, wrap tape around the pole pieces untill they just fit back into the holes, and hey-presto! this wont fix your problem though im affraid.

Kurtfreak, as someone said, the Jag-stang isnt a "phenominal" sound. I think I know where you are coming from though, you are expecting a Nirvana sound BUT the Jag-stang will only get you a later In Utero tour sound, plus it takes all the other equipment to sound like Nirvana.

Neho, the buzzing could be to do with unevenly warn frets or a shoddy nut.

Yeah, even though mine isnt' fully functional yet, I have plugged it in and checked out the sound of the guitar. Seems to have that "Pennyroyal Tea" sound (like the clean intro). It will be a fun new toy. I will go this morning and take it to the guitar doctor for a check-up and diagnosis. Oh, yeah, does anyone know what sort of effect Cobain used for the intro to "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter"? That really wild spinning-sounding effect. I always figured it was just some sound he came up with on a processor or something but not really sure.

RFUS is mostly a mix of feedback and a Polychorus pedal in parts. And the use of two guitar parts.

on my bridge the screws are all below the lip of the bridge, so the screw can't touch the string. i wasn't aware that the screws are longer on reissue stang/jagstang bridges. i was aware that was the case on jag/jazz bridges. i've also taped the legs of the bridge post so it doesn't move.

No, it isn't. Its a EH PolyChorus. I've heard clips of a poly being used to replicate that exact sound.

No, I'm an effects freak. Building effects boxes is a hobby, and I've heard and built a lot of effects circuits. I just recall hearing a clip of someone on the stompbox forum post a clip of his PolyChorus clone, and he was "playing" that intro to show off the range of it.

Hehe. No, I'm not Yun. He used to hang out at the stompbox forum also. Guy was a little annoying but flaming is highly frowned upon there, so I just tolerated his annoying posting style. Then Mr ekwatts came in and posted a link 'exposing' Yun, some wiki page. From there I heard about this forum and started hanging out here. I get bored easily.

I have not built a Polychorus myself. High parts count, too much to go wrong and would likely be a nightmare getting the noise down. I stick with simpler stuff like boosters, preamps, modified Rats, and basic chorus effects. I have yet to build a chorus, its all still on paper to shoehorn cheaper chips in place of the traditional yet expensive delay chips. I haven't gotten around to building it.

BTW, I searched for posts about or by Yun here, but I couldn't find anything discussing what the story was about with that guy, in terms of what happened on this forum. Was all of that deleted or something?
