MD-2 might be exactly what you want, bit of 'mesa girth' to it; oceansize use it and I'm pretty sure the biffy do too. Its good for riffing! RAT2 might also be another option, its the main sound in the first foos album...

Yeah, the Rat 2 is a really good pedal too. Can't recommend the Big Muff enough though 😛

Yeah, the Big Muff is great. I want to get one some day. Rats are a good pedal. I got one from the 80's, but I don't know if it's what you're looking for. Very different from over drive pedals.

Nice one, man. It looks to be a good pedal. Never tried one myself, but from what I've read it hits the mark.

Check out Fulltones OCD. Its has a beautiful distortion in it. Very natural and organic sounding, but with all the grit you really need.

i have both a 'bad monkey' AND a SD-1, i dont like the bad monkey at all, in fact i would go so far as to say its ####. the SD-1 i love i think it help put that slight edge on my valve amp when i cant crank it. i only use the monkey when i need to make some over the top feed back.

well usualy gain full high full low about half but in quieter stuff I change the gain

it could just be that its just not your kind of pedal

yea but i normally like overdrive... oh well keep it for extra noise ^^

In my opinion the ML-2 (Metalcore) is better than the MT-2 (Metalzone) although for Foo Fighters type stuff it might not work
